Responsibilities

The Private Banker's primary purpose is cultivating new and servicing existing bank relationships resulting in efficient delivery of credit and other bank services. This includes working with high net worth clients on credit and deposits, using total balance sheet wealth management, working within CIBC PWM client experience, personal touch, custom solutions for our clients, active portfolio management providing both banking and customized lending solutions to new and existing clients, plus introductions to Wealth and Portfolio Management partners.

This specific role collaborates with related partners to deepen existing relationships and identify new strategic relationships through a team approach, with a specific focus on meeting the lending and deposit needs of clients. The Private Banker will seek greater penetration of existing relationships with the ultimate goal of profitable growth of strategic client relationships.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Supporting all banking and customized lending solution needs identified within their book of business. Seek to become trusted advisor through regular client contact and relationship building

  • Develop new and manage existing client relationships, exploring opportunities to provide additional credit and non-credit services

  • Partner with CIBC Atlantic Trust Relationship Managers and other team members to achieve ultimate approval for new business and modifications to existing business, including active participation in and adherence to requirements of pre-screen & relationship strategy meetings

  • Identify product/service opportunities for other business units and participates in development of creative solutions to client needs, coordinates presentations, and brings in partners when appropriate

  • Serve as client's primary internal resource as it relates to lending and deposit needs

  • Ensure consistency in deal structuring to bridge client needs to appropriate risk mitigation through detailed analysis and underwriting of credit. Responsibilities may include presenting at Loan Committee

  • Collaborate with peers, and mentor junior team members, as part of a team to ensure delivery of superior client service

  • Complete banking portfolio responsibilities including portfolio reviews, renewals, oversee timely preparation of Team's portfolio responsibilities including portfolio reviews (quarterly and annually), Credit Review, 5 Risk Rated, CAMP, etc

  • Responsible and accountable for the risk rating accuracy and risk identification on assigned portfolio. Seek to actively keep informed of changes to policy and procedure that will impact portfolio (credit policy, risk rating framework, regulatory, compliance requirements)

  • Quarterback to drive deals through the underwriting and closing process

  • Act as an ambassador for CIBC Private Wealth Management and CIBC Atlantic Trust through active participation in local market and industry events to maintain current market knowledge and develop new client relationships

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience working with clients and/or developing and managing relationships with high net worth clients plus hands-on experience in applying deep credit expertise, working knowledge of investment portfolios and trust solutions

  • Ability to foster and maintain private banking relationships with high level of competency

  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment, introducing the appropriate partners and suite of investment, trust and banking solutions to high net worth individuals, families and institutions

  • Ability to apply credit expertise, and identify risk, within a specific commercial banking industry or vertical

  • Ability to complete necessary analysis and documentation to achieve credit actions related to Private Banker's existing portfolio (e.g., structure, waivers, and modifications)

  • Formal credit training a plus

  • College Degree / Business, Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics preferred

  • CFP or some other professional designation would be a plus

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products with advanced knowledge financial analysis and modeling

This leader stimulates strategic planning in order for each community to meet or exceed budgeted census, revenue, and net operating income goals. This leader also works with associates at all levels of the company to develop and disseminate tactical objectives, measurements, training initiatives and reporting tools. Essential Functions * Responsible for the frequent and ongoing monitoring of community/regional/portfolio financial performance data; monitors all reports from executive directors and prepares all required reports for VPO in a timely and accurate fashion. Able to identify and proactively adjust financial shortfalls. Assists executive directors in identifying areas for additional revenue growth through rate, level of care, ancillary revenue, etc., as well as expense reduction strategies. * Ensures that community/regional/portfolio sales and occupancy targets are met and exceeded. Routinely reviews sales data and works with regional sales support to adjust strategy accordingly. * Ensures that communities are adhering to city, state, and federal regulatory requirements and SLC policy and procedure, thus minimizing risk and legal exposure; ensures that best in class resident care and services are delivered within state regulatory guidelines. * Hires, supports and retains high caliber executive directors and supervises their activities; provides regular performance feedback to direct reports including corrective counseling and annual performance reviews. Ensures that all community staff have access to proper tools and training to function appropriately. * Facilitates and ensures consistent communication amongst regional team and community leadership team. Interacts professionally and effectively with all levels of the organization, including residents, family members, vendors, investors, etc. * Assists in the preparation and ongoing monitoring of annual budgets and business plans for each community within the assigned region. * Ensures that physical environment of communities is maintained to provide a clean and sanitary living/work environment for residents and staff. * Ensures that SLC policy and procedure is followed to maintain a safe work environment through the prevention of accidents, the preservation of equipment, and training of staff on safe working practices. * Ensures that resident/family/employee concerns are thoroughly investigated and receive timely response and follow up, thus striving to provide a high level of customer satisfaction. * Performs all other duties as assigned. Qualifications Level of Formal Education: Bachelor's degree in healthcare, gerontology, business or related field experience required Area of Study: Healthcare, Gerontology, Business Administration, or related field Years of Experience: Mid-level (3-5 years) Type of Experience: Experience in multi-site management of senior housing and/or relevant equivalent preferred.
