Job Title: Regional Director of Day Programs
Department: Day Services
Reports To: VP of Community Programs
Supervises: All Site Team Members
FLSA: Exempt
Salary: 60k + DOE
SUMMARY
The Regional Director of Day Programs is responsible for the overall success and day-to-day operations of their My Day County. The person in this position serves on the LU Leadership Team.
As a leader in the organization, they exhibit and build a positive Life Unlimited culture throughout the organization. They are responsible for operating and overseeing the assigned Community Living (CL) morning shifts in cooperation with the CL Directors and partner with other programs to ensure the people we support are getting the best comprehensive services. Additionally, the Regional Director will work with the VP of Community Programs and facilitate and participate in several department and agency-wide meetings.
BASIC FUNCTIONS AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
QUALITY Ensure exceptional quality
Ensure program goals and objectives align with agencys mission and vision
Ensure all Life Unlimited policy and procedures are followed by all team members at your site
Ensure all regulatory standards at met; including Department of Mental Health (DMH), Medicaid and CARF
Participate in the Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings, according to the desires of the person supported and their guardian, when applicable. Advocate for individuals self-expression and ensures their hopes and dreams are addressed in their plan
Collaborate with support coordinators to ensure the finished personal plan is accurate and complete. Follows up at necessary
Provide site team members with sufficient information, training, plan information, and other requirements for the successful implementation of each persons ISP
Complete staff/client observation checks monthly and provide feedback to team on areas of improvement and deadlines for completion
Completes quarterly compliance check to ensure all program areas are providing services according to all regulatory, agency and accrediting body standards and guidelines
Work with site team members to develop action plans that focus on improving quality and efficiency of services provided by the day services program
Ensure any deficiencies noted from service monitoring and health and safety team are addressed and corrected according to recommended deadlines
Assists Human Resources with internal inquiries as necessary
Complete and support program team in the payroll approving process
GROWTH & INNOVATION Lead program growth, expansion and improved efficiencies
Evaluate strategies, objectives and measures for program growth
Meets strategic planning goals and objectives and outcome measures for your site
Work with Service Coordinators and LU Intake Manager to coordinate applications, tours, waitlist and funding
Collaborate with families, caregivers, community partners, and other stakeholders to enhance stakeholder to enhance program offerings and support services.
FINANCIAL SUCCESS Ensure financial success according to the budget and strategic plan
Ensure billing gets done appropriately and timelywith all supporting documentation
Address attendance issues at each location
Work annually with the VP of Community Programs to develop a proposed budget that then goes to the CFO, CEO, and Board of Directors
Complete and approve monthly audits on finance accounts for multiple locations
Work with Program Manager to ensure receipts for purchases are maintained and sent to Finance department
Responsible for all site expenditures, receipts, and required paperwork
Look for innovative ways to gain efficiencies and work with the VP of Community Programs to implement
TEAM BUILDER Ensure all programs are adequately staffed and all team members are well trained and supported in their positions
Anticipate staffing needs and work with HR to create strategy for reducing turnover
Work with HR and My Day team to ensure correct hiring processes and personnel policies are followed
Works with program team to ensure staff understand their roles and are held accountable for their objectives and obligations
Must be willing to accept challenges and aid the team(s) in crisis.
Works with program team to ensure staff meet training requirements
Reviews all corrective action documents with Program Managers prior to presentation to employee. Involve HR on written warnings and above before presentation to employee.
Supports Program Managers in completing performance reviews for Assistant Supervisors annually
Provide strategic direction and leadership to program managers and staff, promoting a culture of excellence and person-centered care.
COMMUNICATION Foster strong communication within and between all programs and the overall organization
Interact in a professional manner with agency staff and internal/external stakeholders in order to promote high quality care for all individuals
Lead regularly scheduled team meetings to review program issues, discuss program progress and address program training needs
Work with other agency directors to ensure program continuity, to ensure cross-organizational reports are detailed and correct, and to ensure quality standards across all agency programs
Maintain open and consistent communication with individuals, families/guardians, other health-care providers and regulatory oversight agencies (DMH, DHSS, etc.).
Participates in the, QA, health and safety meetings and other teams as assigned
Establish and maintains close working relationships with all stakeholders, including families/guardians, funder and referral agencies, and solicits regular feedback for quality improvement.
Physical Expectations
This position requires extended periods of walking and standing with some periods of sitting, depending on the needs and activities of the individuals supported. It may require light to heavy lifting and occasional stooping, kneeling, bending, and/or climbing stairs again depending on the needs of the individual supported. The position will require occasional physical intervention if confronted by a person displaying combative or potentially dangerous behavior.
Working Conditions
Office/home environment with noises from appliances, office equipment and facility/maintenance team. May be exposed to bloodborne pathogens and/or infectious diseases.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors Degree in a Human Services field preferred
Minimum of 5 years of management experience, with three (3) of those years working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
Must obtain and maintain training and certification in all required areas, such as
o Abuse/Neglect, CPR, First Aid, Level I Medication Administration, Positive Behavior Supports (MANDT)
Extensive background in the skills of developmental, implementation, and the writing of evaluation treatment plans.
Commitment to person-centered care and advocacy for individuals with IDD
Background in implementing quality assurance measures and improving service outcomes.
Must obtain a Class E drivers license during new hire orientation must carry minimum coverage applicable by law for auto insurance
Must Receive Seasonal Flu Vaccination
