The Regional Director is responsible for the daily operations of the agency's home and community living adult hospice teams and adult palliative services teams in collaboration with the Access Department, Hospice Care Centers, Finance and other supportive departments. They are responsible for the organizational development, implementation and evaluation of the operations for clinical services in a specific region which supports the agency's strategic plan and mission.
Provides direction and support to the Managers of Clinical Teams to ensure best practice and quality hospice and palliative care services are delivered by the multidisciplinary team
Knowledgeable of industry trends and regulatory adherence and ensures that all clinical services are delivered in compliance with regulatory bodies
Works with Medical Directors, Chief Medical Officer, Chief Operations Officer and other Senior Leadership members in planning and developing new clinical practice models and resolving specific clinical issues
Interprets operational indicators and fluctuations in census and workflow, adjusting staffing resources accordingly
Responsible for financial profit and loss and financial results of the business units under their control. Works with the Managers of Clinical Teams to ensure effective management of team budgets and staff resources including continuous and supportive care programs
Collaborates with VP of Clinical Services, Director of Inpatient Programs, VP of Learning and Development, Dir of Volunteers, Dir of Integrative Therapies, Dir of Bereavement and VP of Access to support quality patient care programs across the continuum of care
Develop and maintain positive relations with community partners inclusive of participation in referral source events, Foundation events and patient/family meetings as necessary
Recruits, mentors, counsels, supports, trains, and provides leadership development to support the agency mission, vision and values
Assists in facilitating agency discipline meetings
Participates in the manager on call rotation
Provides back up to other Regional Directors when necessary
Participates in agency-wide special projects
Experience and Skills:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master in Healthcare or Business preferred
Hospice and Palliative Care Certified (HPNA) preferred
Valid Driver's License required
Valid Auto Insurance required
5 to 7 years of management experience, preferably in hospice
Proven expertise in leading change and staff development
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
Knowledge of working with budgets and general financial principles
Ability to manage priorities
Knowledge of federal and state healthcare regulations
Computer skills (Word, Excel, patient database, internet, e-mail), voicemail
