Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Regional Datacenter Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. This role may be based out of any datacenter campus in the Americas Region.

For this role, you are welcome to apply if you meet the following Required Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years' project management experience across large complex, cross-functional organizations from end-to-end.

  • At least 5 years' experience in data center-related functions for large enterprise organizations.

  • Experience working with network technologies including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing, and Switching.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.

  • NOTE: Candidates for this role will not travel until Microsoft has determined that it is safe, given the current pandemic.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience in project or program management and/or large-scale networks

  • Experience delivering large network or other IT hardware projects.

  • Awareness of IT Service Operations fundamentals and principles. (ITIL, MOF, OLA/SLA, CSI, etc.)

  • Project or program management certifications (e.g. PMI, etc.)

  • Networking certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, etc.)

Background Check Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities.

  • Create and maintain a program to identify best practices, design process and procedure documents, and socialize those across the region.

  • Plan, manage, and communicate end-to-end project plans with stakeholders and teams.

  • Perform day-to-day project check-in and update to manage project delivery and quality.

  • Collaborate with other DC Ops Regions and global teams to align IT operations processes and procedures globally.

  • Establish and enhance strong working relationships with customers in the IT operation space.

  • Work with various Engineering, Operations, Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, DC Build Managers, and Regional Technical Infrastructure Managers during project planning and execution

  • Create lessons learned documentation, best practices, and innovations on existing process/procedures and tools to improve efficiencies and productivity

  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution.

Responsible for successfully planning, controlling and managing project deliverables to ensure that customer needs are met from order receipt through final acceptance. Manage the efforts of team members and third party vendors. Manage the integration and/or development and delivery of deliverables directly to the customer. The project manager will own the project responsibility for the definition and clear communication of project priorities, delivering project expectations, and identifying and mitigating issue/risk among a cross-functional project team. All while representing the best interest of the business unit. Key Responsibilities of the Role: Functional * Performs all aspects of project management functions. * Manages execution of assigned projects within margin targets and customer schedules. * Manages and reports all resource demand and financial aspects of assigned projects. * Applies complex and advanced project management and scheduling techniques. * May participate in development of business team strategic plan. * Must be able and willing to travel and work at customer sites, including industrial plants, etc. (~ 20% of working time) * Supports Quality Manager with respect to internal / external audits Business * Acts as Rockwell Automation representative for assigned projects. * Must have some Life Science Project Management background (Pharma, Biotech, etc) * Complete responsibility for successful outcome of projects.
