Where the Chemistry Happens:
The Regional Head of Controlling, G-ECT North America is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial performance of ECT in the region. He/she plays a key role to ensure that the GBU meets its financial targets in the dedicated region while also providing strategic guidance to support growth and profitability and thus, serves as the controlling business partner as part for the regional management team.
Formula for Success:
Operational Controlling
Key contact and responsible for all operational controlling activities, including the preparation, explanation, and documentation of monthly, quarterly, and annually business results and main value drivers
Ensure high forecast accuracy for major P&L line items, profitability, target and steering KPIs and report deviations to budget at an early stage in time
Coordinate the operational planning process according to the group and divisional requirements, ensure proper communication across all involved units and challenge the aggregated results for the region
Support regional Mgmt. and global ECT controlling to create transparency about above listed operational controlling standard processes, provide financial analysis and insights to support decision-making and encourage standardization across the regions
Investment and Strategic Projects
Key contact and responsible for capital expenditure reporting and budgeting in the region
Be responsible and accountable for the financial evaluation of large ECT specific capital expenditures and other strategic projects in the region
Design and oversee the implementation of appropriate financial models covering capital expenditure, operational expenses, and sharing of costs with other involved business units
Where relevant, provide project leadership in M&A and investment projects. Support preparation of Commission S documents for M&A and investment projects. Coordinate respective inputs from all involved parties and calculate PVIs as well as data preparation for audit A and audit W
Ensure effective reporting and controls and monitor that the capital expenditure is in line with the allocated budget, and deviations are kept to a minimum.
Compliance and Audit
Oversight on compliance, and regional and corporate audit requirements
Support and give guidance on COA audits together with the respective units in the organization
Leadership in Regional Controlling (in alignment with country MDs)
Guidance to country controlling teams
Monitor performance, ensure quality, and provide prompt performance feedback to business management and controllers in the region, as necessary.
Further drive knowledge management within the regional Controlling community (with organize trainings and complete documentation of key processes)
Provide guidance, coaching, drive digital upskilling (for new team members and local controlling) and identify opportunities to support their career growth and success in alignment with country MDs
Ingredients for Success:
Education and Working Experience:
University degree in accountings or related discipline
At least 5 years working experience in:
Planning & Controlling; Finance & Accounting
International company, multi-cultural environment
Other requirements:
In depth knowledge of finance and accounting system
Excellent conceptual and creative abilities
Attention to details, meet deadlines, manage budgets
Business Analysis capability
Communication and presentation skills
