4 Point Consulting is helping Headlands Research look for a Regional Controller in their Florida office. This position can be in Lake Worth or Orlando.

The Role

The Regional Controller will be an integral member of the management team, reporting directly to the Headlands Research Controller with dotted lines to the Presidents of each site supported. The role will assist in ensuring a strong internal control environment and compliance with company policies and US GAAP.

Our ideal candidate must possess strong analytical and communication skills, enjoy a challenging work environment and the opportunity to exercise initiative, be self-motivated and demonstrate an aptitude and skill for proactively finding solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the monthly accounting and reporting process for multiple sites and a growing number of clinical studies
  • Prepare monthly reporting packages for site management and Corporate
  • Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Provide actual vs budget and forecast analysis
  • Manage accounts receivable and collection processes and maintain or improve DSO
  • Maintain ongoing reconciliations between the AR sub-system and the general ledger
  • Manage the accounts payable function including annual 1099 process
  • Track revenue sharing agreements
  • Lease accounting
  • Manage the payroll process and vendor relationship
  • Manage the annual budget and periodic forecast processes
  • Ensure local reporting requirements are maintained on a timely basis
  • Financial analysis as required to support the business
  • Provide support for audit and information requests

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting
  • 7+ years of experience in accounting and finance
  • Experience supervising/managing staff
  • Ability to clearly and concisely communicate with non-accounting professionals
  • Must have strong system and Excel skills
  • Team player
  • Ability to travel approximately 20% of the time
