CONSTRUCTION DIVISION:

Regional Construction Manager (Maine): Reporting to the VP of Construction the Regional Construction Manager will directly oversee construction related operations in Maine. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: promote a safe work environment and ensure regulatory compliance with applicable DOT (Department of Transportation) specifications; responsible for paving and construction activities including bidding, bid analysis, executing bids, and completing projects on time and on budget; develop an understanding of internal construction activities and external sales with the goal of maximizing overall company profitability; focus on, develop and assist with long term strategy through involvement with company's strategic planning process. The position will maintain customer relationships with the DOT, General Contractors and other key accounts such as larger HMA installers with a focus on instilling customer loyalty. Overall responsibility of managing a team involved in planning and coordination of people, equipment, materials, etc., between various areas and customers. Classification: Monthly salaried position.

Requirements:

  • Support the company's safety standards and employee policy guidelines.

  • Bachelor's degree (B.S. or B.E.) from a four-year college with 3+ years of experience; OR 7+ years in the construction materials business with specific experience in paving, installation, earthwork and utilities and a working knowledge of road reclamation and milling as well as transportation and delivery.

  • Previous supervisory experience.

  • Excellent computer skills including email, Internet, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Proven ability to develop relationships and effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

  • Must display a courteous and professional attitude when dealing with co-workers and the public.

  • The willingness to travel to other Pike locations when needed and work extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights.

  • A valid driver's license.

Field Mechanic– (Benton, Maine): We are seeking a safety-minded, qualified, motivated candidate to work as field mechanics based out of our Benton shop. The selected candidate will start out working in the shop and shadowing an experienced mechanic driving from one destination to another throughout Maine. Following the initial training period, the selected individual will travel independently in the field and on job sites and work in the shop as needed. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: trouble shoot and maintain all types of heavy equipment including dump trucks, pickups, reclaim and milling machines, loaders, graders, dozers, pavers and rollers; and possess the ability to repair and maintain equipment under the direction of the supervisor. This position will be based out of Benton, Maine. Classification: Year round hourly position. Requirements: * Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment. * Basic welding skills, associate degree from a technical institute (preferred but not required). * Strong working knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systems. * Candidate must have or be willing to obtain a Maine State inspection license. * Basic computer skills are a must. * Extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights. * The willingness to travel to other Pike locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont when needed. * A valid driver's license and medical card (CDL license would be a plus).
