JOB SUMMARY

The Regional Compliance Counsel, Americas, will be responsible for oversight of Jabil's Ethics & Compliance program in the United States, Latin America and Canada. The Regional Compliance Counsel, Americas will serve as an advisor to regional leadership and corporate functions, conduct internal investigations, and provide counseling and training to employees.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Responsible for the assessment and triage of all compliance-related matters in the Americas region.

  • Provide oversight, direction, and advice in the end-to-end process of conducting internal investigations involving allegations of misconduct including but not limited to fraud, conflict of interest, corruption, and theft.

  • Help ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, in coordination with a broad group of stakeholders including Operations, Human Resources, Finance, Global Security and senior business leadership. Provide ethics and compliance guidance to Jabil regional leadership.

  • Work with stakeholders to implement remediation plans, and assist in risk assessments, readiness, outreach, training and the design and implementation of controls.

  • Responsible for providing supervision and guidance to the Americas Regional Compliance Team.

  • Participation in overall program strategy as a member of the Global Ethics & Compliance Leadership Team. Identify, design, and drive global compliance initiatives.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school or international equivalent. Must be licensed, in good standing, in at least one jurisdiction.

  • Experience successfully conducting, directing and providing legal guidance on complex workplace investigations in multi-jurisdictional environments, including reporting investigation findings to senior management and executives.

  • Experience providing guidance to management on remedial actions resulting from internal investigations.

  • Experience working with government regulators.

  • Minimum twelve (12) years work-related experience, with at least 5 years significant prosecutorial, government investigation or experience conducting internal investigations as an in-house or outside counsel.

  • Proven knowledge of / experience in conducting end-to-end compliance investigations in multi-jurisdictional environments required.

  • Experience in the investigative analysis of financial data preferred.

Full Professional English and Spanish language proficiency required. Portuguese language proficiency (written/verbal) preferred.

Serves as subject matter expert for Mortgage Lending on all compliance-related issues. * Reviews laws and regulations that impact Mortgage Lending's compliance requirements, with emphasis on Regulation Z, Regulation B, FCRA, TRID, HMDA, NMLS, and ECOA. Evaluates mortgage lending policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Recommends, develops, and implements appropriate policy and procedure changes. * Develops all departmental training materials specific to each job family. * Conducts all job specific training needs for new hires and existing staff, including, but not limited to, on-boarding programs, and development of a training calendar with required courses as directed by the Vice President of Mortgage Originations. * Ensures changes in policy or procedure are communicated to impacted staff, business units, or the Credit Union as a whole. Ensures new procedures are properly understood, communicated, and implemented. Works with Vice President to develops compliance materials and associated training programs. * Prepares and responds to mortgage loan error reports for HMDA Reporting purposes, among other regulations. * Tests updates and new releases of host and loan origination computer software. * Maintains knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee's role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training. Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements * Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. (A comparable combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements.) * 5 or more years progressively responsible work experience in the financial services industry, to include experience in Consumer Lending. Previous supervisory experience preferred. * Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Able to analyze and resolve difficult problems and situations. * Good knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures pertinent to the job. * Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities. * Good knowledge and understanding of all Credit Union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties. * Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators. Able to influence others through explanation of fact, policies, and practices. * Works independently with general supervision. Safe Act Statement This position requires the employee to register as a mortgage loan originator with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) and obtain a unique identifier from the Registry before engaging in mortgage loan originator activities, to maintain and renew that registration on an annual basis, to update registration information with the Registry on a timely basis, and to provide that unique identifier to consumers as required by applicable SAFE Act regulations and Suncoast Credit Union policies and procedures.
