  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of medical device or medical products sales experience


  • 3 years experience of focus on deformity spine procedures and experience training sales consultants and physicians preferred

Under the supervision of the Instruction and Public Services Coordinator, the Reference Supervisor manages and participates in reference and research services at the WVRHC. In order to be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will: * Provides reference and research services to WVRHC patrons in-person, via paper correspondence, over the phone, and through email. * Conducts reference interviews with researchers to help them determine what types of resources will be useful to them. These resources include books, pamphlets, serials, newspapers, census, sound archives, court records, films, photographs, maps, broadsides, rare books, and archives and manuscripts. * Instructs patrons in use of various databases, catalogs, and finding aids for published and unpublished materials. * Compiles research and prepares reply to patrons. * Gives tours of the WVRHC. * Develops collections based training materials to be added to the WVRHC website. * Manages the daily operations of reference and research services. * Ensures desk coverage at the registration, reference, and manuscript room desks and updates the WVRHC group calendar. * Reviews and assigns incoming reference inquiries from the WVRHC Contact Us form; the LibAnswers queue; and other sources. * Creates and compiles documentation regarding reference and research services activities in the form of an operations manual. Updates manual regularly. * Delivers training to new reference staff members. * Maintains and reports reference statistics in LibAnswers. Trains staff and students on statistics keeping. Pay grade: 14 * Bachelor degree in History, Library Science or related discipline. * Three (3) years Library, archives or museum experience. One (1) year Supervisory experience * One (1) year Public service experience * Demonstrated knowledge of West Virginia history (Appalachian, and American history) * Knowledge of archival practices and historical research methods * Effective communication skills both orally and in writing * Ability to interact with a diverse set of researchers * Ability to collaborate with colleagues in a team environment West Virginia University Morgantown WV
