Summary:

Responsible for alignment, development & execution of Strategic Commodity Plans for assigned commodities & execution including Key Supplier Development plans, Performance and Strategic Supplier relationship management in support of the BEI corporate goal. Responsible to drive buy in and adoption of commodity strategy in to engineering design and Defence and Aerospace in N. Americas

Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategic sourcing strategy to optimize cost and ensure Continuity of Supply

  • Develop and drive negotiation process and strategy to achieve cost reduction goal

  • Develop cost models and have clear understanding of cost drivers

  • Primary owner for the supplier relationship and in accordance with the commodity strategy, drive supplier selection, development and overall supplier management.

  • Leverage suppliers' capability and business opportunities at regional and global level

  • Negotiates contracts and ensures contractual terms and performance scorecards are met

  • Demonstrate clear understanding of the market locally, regionally and globally

  • Identify thread and potential supply interruption, develop plans to reduce risk

  • In-depth knowledge of commodity and supply based management

  • Functional experience in supply chain management in global organizations

  • Strong negotiations skill to achieve cost reduction goals

  • Self-motivated, able to work independently and under pressure, to achieve requested timing and quality of assigned tasks.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Result oriented

  • Ability to communicate at all levels including senior management, internally and externally, for effective commodity strategy execution.

  • Drives global supply base consolidation to leverage and optimize global spend

  • Develop commodity specific performance criteria and award/remove business based on strategy and supplier performance

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors Degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management or related fields, Masters preferred

  • Solid experience in global supply chain in manufacturing, EMS knowledge and experience is a plus

  • Ability to facilitate and moderate multi-cultural team efforts and negotiations

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel required

  • Minimum 7 years working experience in supply chain/ manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes related to the commodity is a plus
