The Regional Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) Specialist is an active member of the Northeast Region project maintenance and asset management teams, driving and supporting inventory control, planning & scheduling, and maintenance initiatives. This position will cover several regional wastewater facilities located in the Northeast.
The number of projects will be determined by project size and on-site support staff. Successful candidates will have an entrepreneurial, hands-on approach, as well as strong knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling, material inventory, and CMMS experience. They are data-driven, analytical thinkers with strong decision-making skills. In addition, effective presentation and persuasion skills are a must, as is the ability to function in a maintenance team environment.
The Regional CMMS Specialist will actively work with the maintenance teams in the assigned projects to manage work orders for multiple field crews and sites, verify field data integrity to update CMMS information, produce metrics reporting for analysis by maintenance managers, and lead Planner/Scheduler tasks. The CMMS Specialist may also be responsible for providing training to field teams so that each maintenance tech understands and is able to utilize the CMMS tool.
Finally, the CMMS Specialist will interact with other similar roles in the organization to share best practices, lessons learned, and conduct planning. Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Creating reports for Project Manager completion, budget performance, downtime and labor tracking
Work with project personnel in organizing and maintaining of work requests and associated files
Improve CMMS database integrity and quality with corrections to asset IDs, work order instructions, safety plans, parts and procedures, hierarchies, etc.
Ensure and drive best practices standardization across all maintenance departments at all sites
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
High school diploma or equivalent, and 5 years of experience planning & scheduling within a software platform in a maintenance or manufacturing environment
Advanced computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Experience and hands-on knowledge of maintenance activities
Experience in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS), including inventory management/control and preventive maintenance scheduling
Ability to travel up to 75% of the time
Possess a valid state drivers license
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
Technical training and experience in physical asset maintenance. Military training with 4+ years of experience is acceptable
Self-starter and a proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
Experience communicating to peers and senior management regarding maintenance, inventory, and cost control
Ability to prioritize, schedule, and logistically support multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with potential regulatory compliance driven deadlines
Excellent organizational and recordkeeping skills
Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
Desire to help build maintenance programs and material processes in a dynamic, fast-growing environment
