Position Title: Regional Chef, K-12 Schools

Location: Must be located near a major airport in the following markets: Texas (major cities), St Louis, or Chicago

Job Summary

This position will be home office-based from one of the following cities: Texas (Major Cities), St. Louis, or Chicago

Working as the Regional Executive Chef for Chartwells you will work with our leadership team in planning, implementing and supporting innovative culinary programs that impact the lives of countless K-12 students, within a respective territory.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and inspire best in class culinary programs and standards through communication,training and assessment of execution across a region of school districts.

  • Optimize, monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory and procurement standards,seeking opportunities for product cost or quality improvements in partnership with

Purchasing and Supply Chain teams.

  • Support new business growth and retention of existing business through menu and programinnovation, live presentation support and contributions to formal proposal submissions.

  • Provide onsite and remote training, coaching, and development of key culinary personnelwithin assigned territory.

  • Develop and mentor regional Culinary Innovation Council to ensure a continuous cycle ofnew product and program development.

  • Provide onsite support for new account openings and key events within the territory.

  • Orientate new chefs and culinarians

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with a diverse regional resource team - including

Operations, Marketing, Nutrition and Finance - to achieve business goals.

  • Complete all required reports, logs, and quality audits in a thorough and timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Education / Experience: Bachelor's degree from a recognized Culinary Institution or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum Five (5) years of multi-unit, management experience required

  • Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze and interpret general food service documents,memos.

  • Mathematical Skills:Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as discounts andinterest. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions topractical situations. Must be computer literate and able to utilize Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concretevariables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a varietyof instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or scheduled form.

  • Other Qualifications:Serve Safe Certification. CEC and ACF membership preferred

  • Previous experience in K-12 schools, higher education, or healthcare, preferred

  • Must be willing and able to travel. This position will require extensive travel between 50% - 75%

  • Have leadership skills that will allow them to remotely influence other culinary professionals

  • Have effective communication skills in both written and oral forms

  • Have excellent prioritization and time management skills

  • Have experience developing and training others
