Do you have prior military or military chaplain experience and a strong desire to serve our nations' veterans and their spouses? Do you enjoy working with a team, discipling others, and teaching God's truth? As a Regional Chaplain with Operation Heal Our Patriots (OHOP) in Coppell, Texas, you will be responsible for on-going ministry to veterans and spouses who attend our Alaska-based OHOP retreat. Region 5 will focus on Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. For an opportunity to serve those who have sacrificed so much for our nation, put your talents to use for a cause with an eternal purpose through Samaritan's Purse. Prayerfully consider this opportunity.

A day in the life of a Regional Chaplain

At Samaritan's Purse, the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We start each day with a time of devotions and spend time praying for each other and our staff and volunteers who serve around the globe.

In the role of Regional Chaplain, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him.
  • Build purposeful relationships with each new OHOP couple within the assigned region by contacting them before and after their time in Alaska.
  • Develop leader volunteers among OHOP alumni.
  • Provide discipleship for new believers and those wanting to grow deeper in their walk with Christ with the goal of connecting them to the local church.
  • Provide pastoral care and marriage enrichment to each couple as needed.
  • Lead marriage retreats in assigned region, Alaska, and other regions as required.
  • Facilitate smaller gatherings of OHOP couples throughout the year.
  • Maintain regular contact with each alumni couple throughout the year.
  • Ensure consistent record-keeping following each contact with an OHOP couple.
  • Follow policies and procedures of Samaritan's Purse as set forth in the Policy Manual.
  • Attend daily morning devotions and participate in prayer support for the ministry, its donors and volunteers.
  • Maintain a strong Christian witness to colleagues, vendors, charitable beneficiaries and the general public.
  • Other duties may be assigned that are not specifically identified within the content of the job description.
