The Job Responsibilities

Position Summary

The regional CFO provides leadership and direction to the Finance & Controlling, IT and Facilities team in North America and reports, as a member of the North American Leadership Team, the North American Compliance Committee, and the Regional Governance Board to the regional CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy and Planning

  • Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with Draeger's corporate objectives and growth plans.

  • Coordinate the overall planning process (in line with Group planning guideline / instructions) for the Region and its subsidiaries incl. required alignment between Region and Divisions.

  • Lead financial modeling efforts to optimize financial performance.

  • Prepare strategy decisions and implement strategy projects as assigned.

Financial Management

  • Oversee the FP&A (financial planning & analysis) functions.

  • Provide financial analysis and insights to support business decisions and drive operational efficiency.

  • Evaluate investment opportunities, partnerships, and revenue-generating initiatives.

  • Drive cost management and optimization.

  • Monitor KPIs, financial metrics and initiatives to achieve budget and midterm plan.

  • Provide timely and accurate financial reports assisting decision making process.

  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll process.

  • Track and manage required cash flow.

  • Identify and implement tax efficient initiatives.

Business Support

  • Participate in and support regional and country strategy design, formulation, implementation and review in close collaboration with the regional leadership team under the leadership of the Regional CEO.

  • Provide financial/commercial support/advise to set-up new businesses, launch new products or business divesture activities.

  • Provide internal and external benchmarking as appropriate.

  • Provide financial/commercial advice in project and large tender business, e. g. clarification of commercial conditions and their impact on profitability, support in contract structuring etc.

  • Interface with other organizational units to ensure availability of relevant financial data as well as support the alignment among the functions.

  • Harmonize and improve business processes where possible and reasonable.

Compliance and Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.

  • Ensure proper functioning of all accounting and finance systems, databases, and software.

  • Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.

  • Closely collaborate with the Managing Directors on the set-up and maintenance of authorization schemes such as delegation of authorities for the country organizations.

  • Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes affecting the Draeger's financial operations.

  • Ensure tax preparation of all Draeger entities in North America.

  • Support the corporate tax function in the implementation of cross-border requirements.

  • Work with Human Resources, Legal & Compliance and Senior Management to ensure appropriate compliance and governance.

Risk Management

  • Ensure the set-up and maintenance of an appropriate risk management system.

  • Ensure a risk reporting according to the existing guidelines.

  • Support and monitor the execution of countermeasures in to mitigate risks.

  • Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard financial assets and reputation.

IT Strategy and Management

  • Provide oversight and strategic direction to the regional IT department, ensuring efficient, effective, and secure IT services and tools in alignment with our corporate IT strategy.

Facility Management

  • Strategize and coordinate facility management activities for all North American Draeger sites in close cooperation with local Site Managers and Corporate Real Estate.

Your Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior financial executive in the manufacturing and or sales & service industry with at least ten years in leadership roles.

  • Master's degree (MBA) or the equivalent in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.

  • Fifteen or more years of professional experience with at least ten years in Finance and Accounting management.

  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting techniques.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.

  • Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.

  • Ability to communicate complex financial information effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
