In the U.S., Agios markets a first-in-class pyruvate kinase (PK) activator for the treatment of hemolytic anemia in adults with PK deficiency. Building on the company's leadership in the field of cellular metabolism, Agios is advancing a robust clinical pipeline of investigational medicines with active and planned programs in alpha- and beta-thalassemia, sickle cell disease, pediatric PK deficiency and MDS-associated anemia. The impact you will make:

Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Regional Business Director (RBD) to join our growing US Sales team. We want someone who cares about this important work, and who's driven to connect to our mission of helping these patient communities. The RBD is a first line leadership sales position, and will be responsible for managing a team of Hemolytic Anemia Specialists (HAS).The RBD will have the opportunity to build, lead, and develop their team with the goal of creating demand leading to HCPs initiating their Adult PK Deficiency patients on Pyrukynd (mitapivat). Additionally the RBD and their team of HAS will be responsible for raising awareness of Thalassemia across their respective geographies in anticipation of the initial US approval of Pyrukynd for Thalassemia.

Desired location within region: (Northwest) What you will do: · Fosters a patient-centric culture of high-performance, accountability, collaboration, compliance, and fun. · Shapes the environment that provides the right balance of autonomy, support, and development to enable the regional team to meet and exceed goals and objectives. · Develop regional business plans based on sales goals, sales and marketing plans, expectations and available resources for the purpose of meeting or exceeding sales forecasts. · Effectively manage regional operating budgets, provide expense management guidance to HAS and ensure corporate expense policy is followed. · Recruit, hire, train supervise, and develop HAS within region. · Routinely utilize field time to provide individual direction and feedback to HAS. · Be an expert in the clinical data of the product and be able to provide direction for its use. · Actively develop HAS for additional responsibilities and future roles. · Provide reviews, evaluate performance, assign merit increases and implement performance improvement plans for HAS. · Interface with internal Commercial Team to provide feedback and input for development of sales and marketing plans. · Personally develop strong relationships with KOLs, physicians, academic centers, and other key market stakeholders. · Demonstrate leadership by serving as a role model of the organizations' corporate values. · Recommends and administers policies and procedures to enhance business operations and sales analytics. What you bring: · Strong and authentic interest in helping patients. · Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline; graduate degree is preferred. Equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience may be considered. · Minimum of 8+ years successful sales experience with demonstrated sales leadership within the (bio)pharmaceutical industry. · Demonstrated ability and experience in managing a high performing sales team or experience leading cross-functional projects and teams combined with previous mentorship experience · Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to effectively manage performance, engage and motivate team members, provide coaching and development opportunities, and respond to situations affecting staff. · Strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. · Strong experience in exceeding corporate patient acquisition and revenue goals. · Well organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage shifting responsibilities in a dynamic, cross-functional team environment. · Excellent collaboration skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and manage complexity. · Commitment to fostering a culture of diversity, inclusion, and belonging. · All positions have an essential job function to be able to perform face to face work with colleagues Travel Requirements Both virtual or in-person meetings are facilitated as needed and appropriate.

Travel requirement will be an average of 75% within the territory focusing on the major market area of Northwest. Work Location: Location Specific - Field/Remote:

This is a remote based field position. Employees in field roles must reside within their designated territory. Regular conversations with manager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-person presence/expectations.
