About the Organization:
Recro Pharma,Inc. is a revenue generating specialty pharmaceutical company developingnon-opioid therapeutics for the treatment of pain, initially for acute postoperative pain.
Recro Pharma has two product candidates in mid to late stage clinical trialsfor the management of acute post operative pain. IV/IM meloxicam, aproprietary, long-acting preferential COX-2 inhibitor has successfullycompleted multiple Phase II clinical trials and is ready to begin pivotal PhaseIII clinical trials. We believe IV/IM meloxicam compares favorably tocompetitive therapies in magnitude of pain relief, onset of pain relief, duration of pain relief and time to peak analgesic effect.
Dex-IN, a proprietary intranasal formulation of dexmedetomidine, is currentlybeing tested in Phase II clinical trials. Dexmedetomidine, or Dex, is aselective alpha-2 adrenergic agonist that has demonstrated sedative, analgesicand anxiolytic properties. If approved, Dex-IN would also be the first and onlyapproved acute post operative pain drug in its class of drugs.
Recro Pharma owns and operates an 87,000 square foot, DEA-licensed facilitythat manufactures five commercial products which are commercialized bypartners, and receives royalties associated with the sales of these products.
