Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Upholds SmartBank Core Values and Core Purpose.

  • Exercises daily supervision over the branch staff and sees that operational efficiency is achieved. Assists with personnel administration matters as assigned.

  • Performs Financial Services Representative duties as needed. Promotes friendly relations with retail customers, local businesses, trade organizations and service clubs, concentrating efforts on those within marketing strategy.

  • Examines workflow procedures, staff levels, and client flow and transaction volume. Implements revisions to maximize productivity and income generating opportunities.

  • Ensures adequate training in selling and cross selling of bank products and services, Bank policy, procedure, programs and objectives.

  • Maintains prescribed security controls and compliance with current regulatory legislation in order to protect the branch against criminal and fraudulent operations and unnecessary risk or exposure.

  • Sets sales goals and objectives and implements actions, by motivating staff to sell bank products both inside and outside of the bank.

Ideal candidates for the role will include:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Previous regional management experience.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adheres to and embraces the SmartBank Way by Acting Smart, Looking Smart and Being Smart. Holds branch associates accountable to the SmartBank Way to maintain our culture in the branches.

  • Works with leadership and with Training Department to coordinate needed training for branch staff.

  • Creates budget planning for personnel and capital resources and reports to leadership.

  • Ensures communication of information is distributed to all branch managers and branch staff on a timely basis.

  • Provides consistent and timely coaching and guidance to associates to assist with strengthening their product knowledge, identifying customer needs, and develop associates' sales skills.

  • Holds Branch Managers accountable for required levels of outbound phone calls.

  • Holds Branch Managers accountable for required levels of referrals.

  • Works with marketing to keep associates informed and motivated to reach branch sales goals.

  • Maintains continuity and consistency of service, policy, and procedure between the SmartBank branches.

  • Provides guidance and makes decisions on complex client situations and accounts.

  • Facilitates quarterly Branch managers' meetings. Coordinates with leadership to ensure each region is receiving coordinated information.

  • Liaison between the branches and other bank departments to include senior management. Coordinate with bank leadership, human resources or other departments as needed to resolve issues.

  • Works with Human Resources to ensure proper branch staffing and hiring including interviewing for potential available positions.

  • Oversees the float FSR positions and their scheduling as well as overall branch staffing coverage.

  • Works with leadership and with Security Officer on branch physical security. Also works with Branch Managers to ensure security measures are being followed as well as periodically checking camera's to ensure they are working properly.

  • Works with Branch staff to ensure all policies and procedures are adhered to.

  • Responsible for monthly reporting to Director of Branch Administration such as teller over/short, number of transactions, as well as any other needed reporting.

  • Coordinates branch maintenance with Facilities Manager for all branches in their region.

  • Works with centralized supply purchasing department to ensure items needed are sent in timely manner.

  • Maintains high morale at the branch locations by establishing good communications and a positive environment.

  • Participates in community activities to increase the Bank's visibility and to enhance new business opportunities.

  • Handles disciplinary issues inside the branch with the assistance of Human Resource Department.

  • Communicates with Director of Branch Administration to ensure the smooth flow of information and the promotion of teamwork throughout the Bank

  • Performs performance reviews on Branch Managers.

  • Complies with all applicable federal, state, and local banking and industry related laws and regulations including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum three years banking experience in management position

Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):

  • None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Excellent Client Experience skills.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Proven track record of success in driving sales performance and developing associates.

  • Outstanding leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and ability to effect change.

Work Conditions:

  • Able to routinely stand, sit, bend and stoop. Occasionally lift or carry loads up to 40 pounds.

  • Frequently and regularly required movements using wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

  • Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare and inspect documents or products and operate machinery.

  • Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

  • Travel to various branch locations is required.

  • Must be available to work the required schedule of the branch office to include some Saturdays.

  • May be required to travel to different bank locations for training sessions or meetings.
