Position Summary:
The Regional Automation Specialist is responsible to develop and maintain customers for the General Industry Automation Group. This individual is accountable for reaching sales goals, maintaining customer relationships and representing the company in a highly professional manner. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelors' degree is required, Engineering discipline preferred.

  • Previous experience in Sales, 3-5 years preferred.

  • Previous experience in welding or welding related fields.

  • Technical knowledge of robotics automation integration and the robotics arc welding industry.

  • Ability to concept, qualify, and apply robotic arc welding systems to customer needs.

  • Ability to sell capital equipment to manufactures.

  • Proficient in Computer Literature and Microsoft Office including; Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Willing to travel.

  • Represents the company at public relations activities and other external functions, such as trade shows.

  • Manage travel and marketing expenses.

  • Offer suggestions that will aid in the profitability of the company.

  • Behavioral skills required include: strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well under pressure, strong problem solving skills, self-managed, accountable, excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly motivated, self-confident, and able to effectively negotiate.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

  • Obtain new business and increase recurring sales though relationship selling.

  • Maintains and expand customer base by building and maintaining rapport with key customers; identifying new customer opportunities.

  • Responsible for achieving annual sales and profit objectives.

  • Assume territory management in an assigned geographic region.

  • Maintain knowledge of competitors and their presence in assigned territory.

  • Provide timely reporting of pipeline, account and territory management activities within the Sales Information System.

  • Develop personalized sales presentations of robotics welding systems and services to existing and targeted customers.

  • Provide a strong focus on customer service.

  • Increase customer loyalty, market awareness and market share

Nonessential functions and responsibilities

  • Other duties, responsibilities and special projects as assigned by the Sales Director.

  • Utilize problem identification and resolution systems.

  • Keep the Sales Director and other senior management staff informed through timely utilization of verbal and written reports.

  • Physical demands: Work is usually a mix of sedentary and walking. Use of the telephone is extensive. In the office there is minimal reaching, bending and lifting in relationship to documents and stored records. When at a customer facility, there will be lifting, reaching, bending, dragging, pulling and carrying of parts and equipment. This individual may have to walk long distances to reach the equipment within the customer's facility.

  • Work environment: This individual may have to sit for long periods of time. The noise level is usually moderate. Traveling may be unplanned and immediate; hours may be irregular.

Duties and Responsibilities Incumbent may perform any combination of the tasks listed below: * Performs on-site property maintenance functions. * Composes and prepares correspondence for staff and leadership from drafts, notes, disks and/or network. * Edits reports and correspondence for style and correct English usage, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. * Answers the telephone and responds to inquiries from the public, members and staff as appropriate. * Represents the CTA and provides assistance to members and chapter leaders requesting Association services, benefits and programs. * Processes GLS referrals for CTA members as directed by UniServ staff. * Makes timely referrals to appropriate staff and/or ensures inquiries receive a response in absence of person(s) to whom assigned. * Compiles information and creates/maintains databases using current technology. * Schedules appointments, travel arrangements as requested and maintains office calendars for assigned staff. * Arranges and prepares for meetings and workshops and performs other required logistics. * Assists Service Center Council, CTA and NEA elected leadership in the Association's governance operation as directed through assigned UniServ staff. * Provides assistance to the Governance Department in the coordination of State Council and the NEA Representative Assembly elections. * Provides assistance to the Governmental Relations Department in the coordination of the CTA Legislative Recommendation Program as directed through assigned staff. * Opens and processes mail including electronically transmitted materials. * Edits to final form minutes of meetings. * Establishes and maintains files and records. * Maintains office telephone answering system. * Performs logistical functions as assigned for conferences coordinated by the region. * Plans, coordinates and follows through on large logistical projects. * Performs designated office errands. * Performs office management duties for RRC. * Performs other appropriate duties as assigned. Qualifications - Minimum Required * AA Degree and one (1) year of relevant experience or, high school diploma/G.E.D. and four (4) years of relevant experience. * Ability to learn and communicate CTA structure, policies, and procedures, programs and services. * Excellent communication skills, oral and written. * Excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to follow through on work assignments with little supervision. * Ability to operate generally used office machines. * Proficient word processing skills with minimum keyboarding speed of 55 wpm. * Proficiency in the use of computer technology and the ability to learn and use the Association's supported software programs. * Ability to prioritize multiple projects and adapt to changes in priorities. * Ability to work well under considerable pressure, respond to emergencies, and solve routine office problems independently. * Ability to work overtime as needed. * This position is in a bargaining unit represented by CAS.
