POSITION DESCRIPTION
The position of Regional Engineering Project Manager will be responsible for directing the planning and engineering of mining operations while maintaining a safety first attitude. This position requires the management of resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc. This position will need to be able to provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision with an emphasis on employee development.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinate with safety and operations to ensure that mining operations are safe.
Understand the planning, permitting, and design of production facilities related to the aggregate and mineral processing industries.
Strong emphasis on aggregate processing and process improvement
Strong aggregate project management history demonstrating a variety of skills from repair and maintenance projects to greenfield execution
Assist various Plant/Production Managers as needed with analysis of geology and mine
Evaluate technical operating efficiency of mine production equipment.
Draw up technical reports for managers.
Tracking rates of production and evaluating the operation's effectiveness by addressing operational issues, performing informal inspections and establishing rapport in order to offer assistance.
Schedules work to meet deadlines and technical specifications.
Assist area managers in the development of capital improvement projects ranging in all sizes related to aggregate plant equipment up to and including total plant construction and greenfield operations.
Manage approved CAPEX projects from design through commission including the management of contractors and vendors.
Ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by analyzing mining methods, procedures and equipment.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Mining, Civil, or related Engineering discipline. 7 years of mining or aggregate industry experience. Knowledge of design specifications, mine planning and mine optimization.
Computer Skills: Experience with Microsoft Office products, AutoCAD, Aggflow and ability to adapt to other computer software.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to travel and work away from home approximately 50%.
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Consists of both office setting and on-site at plants. Office environment will include suitable work areas and standard office equipment. On site work consists of activities which include navigating heights, machinery and exposure to elements such as dust, changes in temperature and weather. Required safety equipment will be issued and policies and procedures focused on safety will apply.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing at times. The employee must frequently lift or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift or move items up to 75 pounds. Must be able to frequently climb stairs and ladders. May occasionally deal with heights. Must be able to safely maintain 3 points of contact when applicable. Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with staff, employees and managers. Effective conflict resolution abilities. Ability to present facts and recommendations effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, write and do mathematics.
