Position Summary:

The main responsibility of the Regional Account Manager is to address national issues within the region to allow the Strategic Accounts Manager maximum time to grow Strategic Account sales within the region. The Regional Account Manager Strategic Accounts (RAM) is responsible for working closely with Strategic Account customers, Outlook Supply Chain Services customers, Regional customers, Strategic Account teams and regional sales teams to drive sales. The RAM coordinates Strategic Account rollouts/ implementations and delegates sales activities, disseminates communication, and ensures that contractual commitments are met. The RAM is responsible for addressing administrative issues associated with National Accounts in the region.

Essential Job Functions:

  • All duties and responsibilities shall be performed as set forth in established policies and procedures.

  • Adhere to and assure compliance with the Code of Conduct/Handbook, policies and procedures and all applicable rules, regulations and standards promulgated by Federal, State and other applicable agencies or regulating bodies.

  • Responsible for the coordination and delegation of strategic account sales activities with the region's sales management and team.

  • Responsible within the regional company for Strategic Account activities including:

  • Roll Outs, implementations, and reporting requirements for all Strategic National Accounts;

  • Grow Strategic Account business through management of Roll Out attainment;

  • Maintaining and monitoring active/ non-active Strategic Account file & Implementation Report;

  • Management and completion of required cost savings documentation for Strategic Accounts;

  • Ensuring that Airgas and all strategic account locations are adhering to contract commitments;

  • Communication of all opportunities and issues of Strategic National Accounts (SNA) serviced within the regional company;

  • Timely communicate of bid opportunities and awards to region stakeholders.

  • Be a regional go-to person for information regarding national accounts as well as provide background research to SAM on various date required to determine business position for review and decision.

  • Establish and maintain clear and consistent lines of communication with internal departments relative to customer successes, customer failures, new customer developments and other customer specific information.

  • Work closely with outside sales team to assist in promoting sales and customer management.

  • Act as liaison between the regional company (RC) and Strategic Account teams.

  • Assist and coordinate with data integrity for support of all regional and national accounts.

  • Work with A/R to improve collection effort.

Qualifications:

  • Must be punctual and accountable for time and productivity.

  • Must have a high level of energy, be as self-starter, work independently, and have a strong customer service and relationship orientation.

  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of SAP pricing structure and work flow.

  • Willingness to be part of a team and engage with region sales team (AVP's, DM's, AM's, Specialists, etc.)

  • Critical thinking skills and detail oriented.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a high volume setting.

  • Continuous improvement outlook.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiple, divide etc. and to perform fraction to decimal and decimal to fraction conversions.

  • Must be able to use a computer and have a good working understanding of Word, Excel, SAP, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Must present a professional presence and demeanor that is reflective of a corporate office environment.

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write routine business reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from associates and management.

Education, Experiences, Certificates/Licenses and/or Registrations:

  • High School Diploma; Bachelor's degree preferred

  • Minimum 5 years of related experience

  • Knowledge of industrial gases, welding supply and hardware desired

  • Proven change management skills, including building sponsorship, communications, and stakeholder management

  • Requires a valid driver's license and personal vehicle with insurance coverage as required by the company

Work Environment and Safety Equipment Required:

While performing the duties of this Job, the associate is regularly required to sit for long periods and stand to perform work. The associate is required to reach with hands and arms, smell, talk or hear. The associate must be able to lift, push, pull or move up to thirty (50) pounds or more with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to noisy and the associate may be exposed to extreme weather.   • Hearing protection must be worn in designated areas.

  • Fully enclosed shoes or safety shoes must we worn in designated areas.
