BASF North American Coatings Regional Account/Business Development Specialist- Southfield, MI (1803666) Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to support the Regional Business Manager as the primary point of contact with our Japanese Automotive OEM technical, engineering, and commercial customers.

You will be responsible for coordinating customer needs with colleagues in North America and Japan in the areas of Technical, Product Management, and Controlling. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing BASFs reputation with OEM customers in the marketplace with your knowledge of the industry, competition, and customer base. You will be challenged to manage complexity across different functions, cultures, and customers through influencing multiple internal and external organizational levels.

You will provide input to strategic planning and strategy execution. Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent Formula for Success Leveraging your science or business education and experience you will focus to improve the customer experience while driving profitable growth. Your strong communication skills, particularly in Japanese and English, along with a thorough understanding of both cultures will enhance your success in establishing priorities and objectives as you coordinate project work with BASF Japan and Japanese customer contacts.

Utilizing your knowledge of BASF products and our organization, OEM customers, and the competitive landscape, you will act as the primary point of contact for laboratory priorities and prevention of non-value-added work, assign issues to the appropriate BASF owner for resolution (i.e. technology gaps and driving root cause), and oversee new product/color introductions, price development, and cost saving initiatives to drive profitable growth. Your understanding of coatings technologies, manufacturing operations, and customer application is a valued asset as you will need to understand, support, and prioritize the needs of the Field Technical Service team. Successfully engaging inside and outside the organization, you will collaborate with customer Material and Process Engineers and influence the BASF organization to ensure customer expectations are met.
