About this opportunity:

  • Is expected to perform duties in alignment with the mission and policies of the organization.

  • Performs duties in support of and in compliance with the performance improvement plan, Joint Commission and other licensing, accrediting and regulatory agencies.

  • Arranges for the efficient and orderly scheduling and registration of clinic patients.

  • Schedules and coordinates clinic patient tests and procedures.

  • Insures that accurate information is collected and required paperwork is completed.

  • Works closely with physicians, nurse and clinical personnel.



  • 1-2 years clerical experience preferred with heavy public contact.

  • Medical office or hospital with registration & scheduling preferred.

  • Bilingual required in some instances (English/Spanish, English/Armenian).

  • High School Graduate or Equivalent.

  • Prefer knowledge of medical terminology.

  • Ability to type 35-40 WPM.

We're looking for someone to join our team as a Medical Assistant (Outpatient) who: Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife. Essential Functions: * Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers. * Obtains vital signs. Reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician. Performs venipunctures as ordered. * Performs audiometry and vision testing. * Performs other job-related duties as assigned. You'll be successful with the following qualifications: Education: * High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred Required Licenses/Certifications: * Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required * Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP within six months of hire: Preferred * Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred * Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or equivalent combination of licensure and experience: Preferred Adventist Health NW Glendale CA
