Job Summary: A Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) performs comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders under the general supervision of the Night Shift Supervisor, Clinical Coordinator, Medical Director (MD, PhD, DO) and/or designee.
This may involve polysomnography, diagnostic and therapeutic services, or patient care and education. An RPSGT may supervise and educate polysomnographic staff under the direction of the clinical coordinator and/or designee.
Current RPSGT credential through the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists (BRPT) is required. Registration status must be maintained in active status and updated per BRPT standards. Must be in compliance with BRPT Standards of Conduct.
Physical ability to perform job responsibilities, including standing, walking, sitting, occasionally stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to ten pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
May be required to work with chemical agents which emit vapors in the work environment. Flexibility to work night, evening, and day shifts.
Knowledge and skills necessary to recognize and provide age-specific care in the treatment, assessment, and education of pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients. Licensure and Certifications: Must obtain BLS Healthcare Provider Level (CPR # AED) certification within 90 days of hire or transfer to the position.
Once obtained, must maintain current BLS status. RPSGT;Must maintain registry status through the BRPT.;Current BLS Health Care Provider. Active member of a specialty related professional organization (American Academy of Wound Management
