Position Summary: The Shipper/Receiver I is responsible for inspecting product for damage, replacing damaged packaging on product, and disassembling product to be scrapped. Other responsibilities are to operate industrial forklift trucks to perform material handling assignments including picking orders, putting away products to assigned locations, packing orders, packaging bulk product into individuals to make available for sale.

Position Responsibilities:

• Inspect product for damage, replace damaged packaging, and scrap out damaged product.

• Build Radiant Heat kits per OMS.

• Transfer units to and from stows Load/Unload trailers (shipping and service parts)

• Minor assembly of various kits as instructed by area coordinator.

• Keeps tally or count of product moved and reports to production supervisor.

• Pack pulled orders to prepare them for shipments. Stacking and strapping then utilizing automatic banding equipment.

• Uses safety cut tools to open boxes, containers, removes strapping and wrapping and disposes of safely in designated containers or areas. Places protective materials around loads when necessary and uses hand or automatic strapping equipment to secure loads for in-plant handling, interim storage, or final shipment to customers.

• Opens trailers, checks for sturdiness, cleanliness and obstructions. Places and removes dock plates at trailer. Adjusts dock plates to truck floor surface at shipping dock.

• Removes empty skids and stacks skids in designated area.

• Perform daily safety inspection of equipment.

• May also use other similar powered vehicles.

• Assists, as available, for other departments, including line support and material handling.

• May work in other departments based on business needs.

Position Qualifications:

• Frequently standing on a powered industrial truck.

• High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others.

• Ability to move or lift up 29lbs unassisted.

• Satisfactorily pass in-company forklift driver training program or demonstrates in a "road test" safe handling of a forklift truck based on training and experience elsewhere.

Requirements:

• Must have high school diploma or GED.

• Employees must be able to read numbers, perform basic mathematical calculations and comprehend basic safety instructions.

• Must be able to work overtime as business needs requires.
