Refrigeration/Ac Mechanic (Library)

Minimum Qualifications

Eighth grade. Must possess a Miami-Dade County Certificate of Competency as a Journeyman in General Mechanical or Journeyman in Air-Conditioning.

Must possess a Type II or Universal certification from an EPA recognized certification program in refrigerant transition and recovery service practices in accordance with EPA 40 CFR, Part 82, Subpart F, Section 608 of the 1990 Clean Air Act Amendment. Applicants will be subject to an extensive background investigation, fingerprint check and polygraph examination.

Recruitment Notes

This position will be responsible for maintenance, service and repair of air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration units throughout the 50 branches of the Miami-Dade Public Library System. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for responding to submitted work orders and assisting the Maintenance Unit with completing work orders and in-house renovations as needed. At times, the incumbent in this position may be required to respond to emergencies after-hours.
