A Day in the Life:
As a Refined Fuels Delivery Driver, your primary responsibility is to deliver refined fuels, such as gasoline & diesel, to residential, commercial, and agricultural tanks in and around the area. Your secondary responsibility will be to deliver propane to area customers and other company facility tanks. You must be able to represent Farmers Cooperative in a positive light at end user facilities, as you are the face of the company and have a substantial effect on how the customer views our company. You will also be expected to monitor truck and product pumping equipment and all assets for mechanical health and DOT inspection readiness and maintain inventory organization and neatness to main OSHA requirements. You will also have to prepare daily truck reports for the DOT. You will be expected to help with the maintenance and cleaning of location facilities to meet company standards. You must adhere to all company and government safety policies and regulations. In peak seasons and during times of supply disruptions, this is a job that will require long hours behind the wheel of the truck. This job will be exposed to a wide variety of temperatures, weather and driving conditions. When you are not making deliveries, you will be expected to assist the facility you are stationed out of and help all departments including tires, grain, feed, and agronomy. You will be expected to work hard, and you will have to work more hours during busy seasons. What You'll Need to Do This Job:
A high school diploma and/or equivalent
Class A or B CDL (depending on truck) with a Hazmat, Tanker Endorsement, and Airbrake Endorsement
Excellent driving record
An understanding of the physical properties and safe handling of fuels/propane
Know proper fuel and propane handling procedures (will train the right individual)
Motivated self-starter with excellent organizational skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Basic mathematical skills
The ability to think clearly and problem solve
The desire to be involved in agriculture and work for a cooperative
This is a very physically demanding job. You must be able to climb in and out of a truck, climb ladders to fill refined fuel and propane tanks, and pull heavy hoses and reels daily
This position requires you to lift 50 pounds regularly and occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
You will be exposed to grain dust, chemicals and fertilizers, and outdoor elements and temperatures
You must be flexible with your schedule as more hours will be expected during irrigation and propane seasons and you must be available to assist other departments as needed at your facility
