Description

The Referral Coordinator will:

• Hold responsibility for completing all referrals in a timely manner, and in accordance with established policy and protocol.

• Review, process, and track all diagnostic, specialty, and miscellaneous referral requests, obtain authorization for referrals, and schedule appointments for patients as required.

• Work closely with providers, patients, and payers in a team-based manner.

• Photocopy, fax, and scan all referral materials as required.

• Electronically input referral data as required

• Adapt to the ever changing and complex services, providers, service locations and initiatives across North Star Health, while providing the highest level of patient service.

• Contribute to a pleasant and cooperative team environment.

• Cross train in all areas of reception.

• Demonstrate the ability to respond to requests for information, both patient specific as well as practice specific.

• Demonstrate the ability to operate and maintain office equipment.

• Demonstrate the ability to organize the office efficiently and effectively.

• Perform all duties within HIPAA regulations and adhere to policies and procedures during all activities.

Requirements

• Six (6) months' customer service/clerical experience, including computer operation.

• High school diploma or equivalent

• One (1) years' experience working in healthcare environment (preferred)

• Innovative thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.

• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to multi-task.

• Strong organizational, administrative, and time-management skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively with all team-members.

• Ability to use discretion while working with sensitive information.

• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 virus and provide required vaccination documentation unless approved for an exemption prior to starting employment. *
