CRST Expedited is seeking a detail oriented and determined Reference Specialist to be located in our Cedar Rapids, Iowa office. The hours for this position are Tuesday - Friday 7am-5pm & Saturday 7am-11am.

Job Summary:
Verify references and compile necessary paperwork in order to hire new CDL drivers and assemble driver qualification files ensuring Department of Transportation (DOT) compliance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Compile and audit completed DOT and CRST driver qualification files for new driver candidates.

  • Perform reference and background checks on applicants.

  • Act as a compliance liaison with terminals, trainers, operations, and drivers.

  • Extensive amounts of time will be spent on the telephone and performing alpha and numeric data entry.

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Some previous experience in a related field preferred

  • High school diploma or GED required, coursework or degree in a relevant field preferred

  • Some customer service experience preferred

  • Verbal and written communication skills needed

  • Must possess basic computer skills

Job Summary Sr. Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist Position Description: We are currently searching for a Environment, Health and Safety Specialist to join our team in Cedar Rapids, IA. Responsible to ensure, at a minimum, company compliance with existing, new and emerging federal, state and international environmental, health and safety regulations. This requires the knowledge and technical expertise to develop and deploy environmental, health and safety policies, systems, programs and processes. The scope of a position may be site specific, regional across multiple sites or Enterprise wide. This position is for an established EH&S professional. Job Responsibilities * Technical knowledge of EH&S processes and procedures. Applies these processes and implements improvements to established procedures. * Application of methods and techniques for hazard identification, hazard evaluation, risk assessment and control. * Conducts regulatory review and impacts analysis of moderate scope and complexity. Initiates process changes as needed. * Conducts full site inspections and participates in compliance audits. * Collects and manages data and maintains data records. Compiles and prepares reports and permit applications; analyzes for trends. * Contributes to ES&H teams and committees. * Develops and manages a local annual training plan including documentation and recordkeeping based on an assessment of requirements. Contributes to training program development and conducts EH&S training events. * Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Refers to policies and practices for guidance. * Assists with written and spoken internal and external communication. May help prepare reports, respond to surveys, develop and maintain documents, and contribute to teamspace or website content. * Participate in process and information management mapping. Assists in the design and development of simple applications and tools. Helps investigate and resolve problems with process, tools and applications.
