North Texas Endoscopy Centers (NTEC) is the collective name for five independent endoscopy centers serving the North Texas community. With locations throughout the DFW Metroplex, we are able to provide high-quality, patient-centric care in a comfortable and convenient environment.

This is level of service is something that everyone looks for during a colonoscopy or endoscopy. The Endoscopy Center at Redbird Square is committed to delivering superior care for your digestive health needs at a fraction of the cost of most hospitals and/or hospital-affiliated locations.

The Endoscopy Center at Redbird Square is currently searching for a full-time GI Technician to work Mondays - Fridays who can work cooperatively with staff and physicians and perform a variety of tasks.

Major responsibilities include: cleaning procedure rooms; assisting physicians; processing scopes; restocking and changing over rooms; performing housekeeping duties and assisting in maintenance of all supplies. Must be able to work in the front office.

Experience is required.

You must possess a HS school diploma/GED and a BLS certification.

Provides care to assigned patient population in accordance with established protocols and multidisciplinary plan of care utilizing independent, dependent, and interdependent interventions to restore stability, prevent complications, and achieve and maintain optimal patient responses for all patients through patient centered/patient valued care. MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education: - Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing. - Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Experience: - Must have two years of experience in gastroenterology lab setting; OR, - Must demonstrate proficiency in procedure based nursing area. Certification/Registration/Licensure: - Must have current RN license or valid temporary license with the Texas Board of Nursing; or, valid Compact RN license. - Must have current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from one of the following: o American Heart Association o American Red Cross Rescuer o Military Training Network. - Must have Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course completion card - Prefer Certified Gastroenterology Registered Nurse (CGRN) or other specialty certification in a nursing field directly related to endoscopy care. Skills or Special Abilities: - Provides care for assigned patient population in accordance with the current State of Texas Nurse Practice Act, established protocols, multidisciplinary plan of care, and clinical area specific standards. - Provides continuous assessment, consults with other team members as required and provides nursing care which demonstrates patient centered/patient valued care. - Exercises independent judgment in providing nursing care. - Must be able to demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and possess good oral and written communication skills. - Must be able to communicate effectively with patients, families, and hospital staff in accordance with established policies and procedures. - May be required to communicate effectively, via the overhead paging system. - Must be able to demonstrate the ability to provide direction to non-nursing staff, serve as a preceptor, and serve on rotation as a Charge Nurse. - Must be able to prepare and conduct in-service educational programs. - Must be able to demonstrate patient centered/patient valued behaviors. - As applicable, will be required to demonstrate acceptable knowledge of nursing standards of care for specialty care area. - Utilizes national nursing organization resources/standards of practice in decision making and when participating in projects designed patient and in-service education programs and quality incentives.
