Recycling Center Heavy Equipment Operator in Greensboro, NC

POSITION SUMMARY: The Operator Heavy Equipment is responsible for the safe operation of heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station for the purpose of transferring, spreading, covering, loading and/or compacting waste or soil in an efficient and safe manner.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy to ensure windows, lights, mirrors and rear view camera are clean. Safely and efficiently operate equipment that may include: forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment using proper safety standards.

  • Continuously monitor waste for evidence of unacceptable waste in materials.

  • Continuously monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure it is operationally ready at all times to minimize down time; clean tracks or wheels on equipment, as needed.

  • Perform and document minor service on equipment, referring more complicated mechanical issues to Maintenance Shop for repair.

  • Complete Equipment Condition Report and other reports, as necessary; report any necessary repairs to supervisor, as needed.

  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that shop is clean, serviced and stored at the completion of each shift.

  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or GED.

  • Two years' prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.

  • One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

  • Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations; acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness.

  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner.

  • Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise..

  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks.

  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.

VIEW JOBS 10/17/2019 12:00:00 AM 2020-01-15T00:00 Vice President, Construction Equipment Financial Services This position is responsible for the overall activities of the VFS Construction Equipment Finance channel in the United States to ensure the achievement of sales targets while supporting the strategies of the sister Business Area. In addition, the VP will be ultimately responsible for the business relationships with Volvo Construction Equipment and the VCE distribution network. This position also has responsibility for the North American Transaction Services (NATS) business. The NATS team is responsible for providing customized transaction processing services to Volvo and Mack end customers and developing/maintaining process and systems in order to support OEM partner's soft product offerings. This position reports to the President of VFS, and will be located in Greensboro, NC, USA. Core Responsibilities: * Overall Strategy of the Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) financial sales organization to deliver company objectives. * Responsible for the recruitment, training and development of all VCE sales, sales management and sales support personnel. * Proactively managing the relationship with the VCE's key executive management group. * Key interface with Dealer council groups to ensure that VFS understands and supports the strategy of the Dealer group. * Coordination of key account activity to support the commercial strategy. * Develop necessary retail and wholesale transactions via sales and marketing programs and promotions, including rate subvention programs. * Assist in the development of a profitable and balanced credit portfolio through key account selection. * Overall responsibility for ensuring that the sales process provides a customer centric, quality based delivery of all financial services products. * Management & Development of the overall budget required to support channel sales efforts. * Overall forecasting of Sales volumes and Sales activity to support targeted sales objectives. * Pricing responsibility for all retail transactions and dealer floor plan accounts. * Overall responsibility for the NATS business * Member of VFS USA Management Team and Credit Committee. * Other duties as may be required. Education and Experience Required: * Master`s degree or equivalent and/or BA/BS in Finance, Marketing, Business or related field, MBA preferred. * 10+ years of experience in heavy equipment financing and leasing, or 15+ years of experience within a product Business Area. * Proven track record of developing and motivating a sales organization. * Credit underwriting experience. * Experience in structuring and negotiating finance transactions. Required Competencies and Skills: * Proven ability to manage Sales strategies and tactics that lead to sales results * Strategic and leadership skills that support corporate objectives * Ability to negotiate at executive level within sister Business Areas and Dealer organizations. * Strong expertise in Sales Management, Financial Services, Strategic planning and overall implementation * Strong technical understanding of equipment financing, including principals of lease, tax, cash management and financial statement analysis. * Supportive of quality and continuous improvement approach to organization design and development * Ability to develop financial merchandising products/services to grow the NATS platform * Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex financial statements, financial services processes and transactions, and prepare written project plans, KPIs and management reports. * Ability to work effectively with other business leaders and their organizations with specific emphasis on the product companies supported by VFS. * Computer skills including MS Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel PowerPoint, Design Tools. * Must have excellent written and verbal skills. Must be comfortable making formal presentations to the senior management and executive level. * Fully proficient in written and verbal English, additional language a plus. Travel Requirements: * Significant domestic travel required to lead a national field sales force, call on dealers, attend industry events, call on customers – including national accounts – and attend VCE and VFS management meetings.
