Summary:
As a vital member of the human resources team, you will collaborate with the Director of Human Resources and others to plan, implement, and manage the district's talent recruitment strategy. You support principals and other hiring managers in identifying current and future talent/hiring needs and ensure that vacancies/job postings are advertised via appropriate outlets.

Responsibilities
You apply creativity and ingenuity to identify and source potential candidates, cultivating their interest in the district/position, encouraging them to apply, and maintaining ongoing communications with applicants
You are a vital part of the HR team focused on meeting the district's diversification, equity, and inclusion goals to ensure that our workforce represents the cultural, linguistic, and ethnic diversity of our student population (DEIB team)
Prioritize, research, employ, and continuously improve upon strategies that are successful in recruiting a diverse pool of candidates and work to build and expand hiring managers' capacity to do the same
Assist with the interviewing and hiring of District-wide daily Substitute
teachers
Together with the Director of Human Resources, you work to design employee referral programs, internship programs, and other strategies to advance the district's recruitment goals.
Create talent pipeline programs (e.g., IA to teacher program, teaching fellows program) that develop future educators in partnership with institutions of higher education and others.
Support beginning educators with navigating the requirements of educator licensure (with the support of the HR Director and other district leaders with licensure expertise)
Ensure that effective communications and data tracking systems are in place to support the district's recruitment/talent management goals
Along with the Mentoring Committee, coordinate and facilitate the new teacher mentoring/induction program, including preparing the state report
Talent Planning, Cultivation, and Outreach
Partner with the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) and the HR Director to develop, implement, and continuously improve upon a robust talent recruitment plan that positions the district to meet both its talent acquisition and workforce diversification goals
Develop a solid understanding of the district's (and school's) talent needs (e.g., vacancies) and collaborate with principals/hiring managers to deploy the best recruitment strategies to meet the talent needs
Develop and execute a sourcing and outreach strategy to attract high-quality, diverse talent pipelines for Watertown Public Schools; this can include but is not limited to, posting jobs on various sites, social media and email campaigns, radio advertising (including Spanish radio outlets)
Managing recruitment-related platforms like LinkedIn, Handshake, and Indeed, on-campus recruitment, attending career fairs, prospect engagement, and retention/referral strategies
Organize in-district recruitment events to bring talent to Watertown; attend out-of-district career fairs and events
Coordinate efforts for district leaders to attend events with recruitment potential (e.g., guest lecturing at local colleges and universities, attending career events, etc.)
Fully leverage and develop the tools available in the district's job posting system (e.g., TalentEd) to ensure responsiveness to applicants, effective screening practices, and other methods to monitor and track applicants during the process
Strengthen efforts to consistently build a talent pipeline by using a proactive approach to recruitment which includes scheduling regular cultivation calls
Establish relationships with key partner organizations to generate leads and build pipelines to attract qualified candidates
Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources in designing and implementing employee referral programs and other effective recruitment strategies
Work closely with the Human Resources Team to manage all job postings for all positions, including estimating hiring needs; creating postings for positions, and ensuring postings are posted on the district's applicant tracking system (TalentEd), and refreshed/removed, as necessary
Collaborate with the HR Team to develop job descriptions that are effective in attracting candidates and maintain a system to track and keep them up to date
Support school leaders and other hiring managers with an understanding of best practices in talent recruitment, screening processes, and cultivation
Manage initial resume review, and initial phone screens, and help to encourage prospective candidates to apply to appropriate positions
Collaborate with school-based administration to ensure decisions are issued to all candidates in a timely, respectful manner and that throughout the process, effective communication is in place
Support the human resources team (including benefits and payroll) with tasks and communications with candidates throughout the hiring and onboarding process
Collaborate with the team to continuously improve the onboarding, orientation, and early employment experience for all new hires
Work closely with the Director of HR to build a robust data/tracking system to analyze key talent/recruitment metrics such as forecasting hiring needs, analyzing hiring efficiency, efficacy of talent sources, turnover and retention rates, exit interview data, etc
Participate in regular HR Team meetings, prepared to report regular recruitment updates to the Director of Human Resources
Support pipeline development to diversify talent management strategy and implement "best practices" to strengthen talent pipelines
Provide interview feedback, when necessary and appropriate
Other duties as assigned
Develop strategies to "check in" with new hires early in their tenure providing opportunities for them to give feedback on the hiring/onboarding processes and/or other aspects of their employment in the district
With an eye toward building robust pipelines of future educators, schedule regular meetings with existing IA's who may be interested in acquiring a license and/or additional education
Collaborate with the HR team to develop effective feedback loops for employees to share their insights on the hiring process and their experiences as employees
Support the HR team in providing a responsive level of service to a range of employee inquiries, requests, and/or staffing-related procedures
Required skills and qualifications
Bachelor's degree required
Experience working on recruitment or other talent acquisition strategies
Two or three years of experience in a talent acquisition or similar role
Experience in full-cycle recruiting, using various interview techniques and evaluation methods
Commitment to the district's diversity, equity, and inclusion goals
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills
Preferred skills and qualifications
Proficiency with social media, CV databases, and professional networks
Experience in using LinkedIn Talent Solutions to proactively source candidates
Proficiency in documenting processes and keeping up with recruiting trends in an education setting.
Strong organization and/or project management skills
Experience as an educator or other staff member in a public school or other educational setting
