Position Summary: The Recruiting Specialist will work with college leaders to recruit and fill all open positions.

The incumbent will also be responsible for other human resources functions related to the full employee life cycle including maintaining employee files and HR databases and the off-boarding process. Major Duties & Responsibilities: Administer recruitment and selection activities for both exempt and non-exempt faculty and staff by working in partnership with hiring managers including but not limited to:development of job postings aligned with job description review resumes, pre-screen applicants, utilize and enhance the applicant tracking tools support managers with the interview and selection process prepare and present employment offers prepare for new employee orientation and execute the on-boarding plan Facilitate employee onboarding by communicating with new employees and management about first day, conducting orientations and collecting required documentation Monitor the effectiveness of the recruitment strategy and make recommendations to improve and update the existing program Analyze monthly hiring and turnover metrics and make recommendations to the HR Director to improve overall retention efforts Manage and update job descriptions and evaluate each position’s compensation with respect to the recruiting and placement practices and procedures.

Facilitate the off-boarding process including separation communication, exit interviews, completing required documentation and communicating changes to appropriate individuals in collaboration with the Human Resources Generalist Process employee changes and transactions into the HRIS (promotions, transfers and changes) Maintenance of I9 records ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements Assists in the preparation of the data collection including running reports and compiling survey data as requested and in conjunction with the Office of Institutional Assessment Participate in HR team collaboration to develop, implement and deliver HR strategies, services, programs and processes that result in improved productivity, efficiencies and retention for all employees Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Demonstrated knowledge of various human resource functions, federal and state employment laws, wage and hour laws Demonstrated/proven ability to prioritize work, keen attention to detail with demonstrated analytical skills and problem solving Demonstrated critical thinking skills; ability to recognize situations in which independent administrative judgment should or should not be exercised Demonstrated organizational skills necessary for prioritizing multiple demands and project management responsibilities; ability to effectively maintain shifting priorities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively develop working relationships with stakeholders at all levels; excellent listening and presentation skills Ability to identify, track, report on and follow-up on issues related to the office of human resources; demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills Discretion in handling confidential information Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of college students and employees Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database systems Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of two years’ Human Resources and recruiting experience required Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field preferred HR certification desired Higher education experience desired Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel or crouch.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
