Job Requirements

VIEW JOBS 11/17/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-15T00:00 POSITION OBJECTIVE This position is responsible for all activities related to the recruitment of students for assigned programs (MBA or Specialty Masters Programs) at the Weatherhead School of Management. The director will lead the recruitment, admissions and matriculation of applicants for the assigned program(s). The director will be responsible for meeting enrollment targets as set by the faculty director(s). This position is especially required to substantially increase the number of qualified domestic applicants to help create a path to a larger and higher ranked MBA or specialty Master program. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Oversee the recruiting and admissions process to ensure activities within the process are seamlessly delivered on time to meet enrollment goals. The role includes assessing an applicant's fit, as well as selling and negotiating which are key to enrolling the most qualified students. Facilitate strategy discussions and execute recruiting activities by utilizing cost effective search methodologies and tools. Develop plans, goals, and implement the resultant strategies to increase the effective outreach to prospective applicants. Manage and execute a recruitment portfolio (including preparation, travel, fairs, one-to-one events, information sessions, follow-up, etc.) to successfully attain admission and revenue goals. Develop strategies for involving faculty, alumni and current students in the recruiting process. Consult with Deans/Faculty Directors of the program to determine the profile of the desired applicant pool. Develop a sourcing strategy and provide direction to generate leads, cold calling, and internal/external networking to identify applicants and build networks. This process would include building a pipeline through established networks with professionals. Responsible for managing all applicant assessment activities, including reading of applications, leading the applicant interview, reviewing for merit-based scholarship, making admissions recommendations, and managing matriculation and yield to goal. Directly participate in activities related to the promotion of the program(s) to target groups and referral sources. Identify and attend events with the purpose of driving applications. Must be willing to travel extensively and represent Weatherhead at recruitment and other marketing events and activities. Develop new pipelines of qualified domestic applicants from around the region and beyond. Set prospective student communication plan from the point of initial contact through matriculation. Respond to queries from prospective students and applicants. Provide input into tuition setting and other industry trends to validate and support program(s) enhancements. Manage subcontracted agencies and vendors as necessary. Conduct "Train the Trainer" sessions with recruiting team on proven tactics for sourcing leads. (70%) * Coordinate with marketing and communications to develop and execute appropriate marketing and outreach strategies. Track and analyze effectiveness of marketing initiatives and activities. Benchmark Weatherhead recruiting activities with other peer and top tier business schools. Complete a thorough analysis of all recruitment and admission activities with an eye towards implementing more effective and efficient activities. Conduct research to identify additional ways to reach desired candidates and referral sources. (30%) NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Perform other duties as assigned. CONTACTS Department: Regular contact with all Weatherhead faculty and staff for the purpose of recruiting students. University: Regular contact with Case Western Reserve University admissions, IT, security and facilities personnel among others for recruiting efforts. External: Continuous contact with prospective students, alumni, friends of Weatherhead and outside vendors for recruiting efforts. Students: Continuous contact with Weatherhead students and occasional contact with students from other schools within the University for the purpose of recruiting students. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY Direct supervisory responsibility for the admissions coordinator. QUALIFICATIONS Experience: Minimum 7 years of successful experience in sales, recruiting or admissions roles. Prefer direct experience in recruiting graduate (especially MBA) business students or some background in executive search and corporate recruiting Education/Licensing: Bachelor's degree required, MBA or Master's degree in business or related areas preferred REQUIRED SKILLS * Strong marketing, sales and business development experience. * Experience in developing people and managing processes. * Experience in managing a budget, including setting budgets and budgetary priorities, forecasting, and meeting targets. * Demonstrated history of responsibility for and success at exceeding sales goals. Proven success recruiting top talent. * Knowledge of executive search and talent acquisition processes and methodology, search tools and technology. * Superior interpersonal, listening and oral and written communications skills, including excellent presentation skills. * Ability to engage with a variety of constituents (corporate partners, civic leaders, prospective and current students, alumni, faculty, etc.) from many different cultural backgrounds. * Superior organizational skills; ability to manage micro and macro objectives and ability to execute multiple objectives concurrently. * Ability and willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed and to travel domestically and internationally. * Ability to navigate organizations and processes to achieve goals. * Proficiency with MS office and managing databases required. * Ability to meet consistent attendance. * Ability to interact with colleagues, supervisors, and customers face to face.
