POSITION DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Recruiter

Reports To: Human Resources Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Prepared Date: March 18, 2024

SUMMARY

Works with Operations and Human Resources Manager to determine hiring requirements. Partners with hiring managers to recruit and select qualified candidates. Recommends process improvements to reduce time to fill metrics.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Works with Operations and Human Resources Manager to develop comprehensive recruitment strategy

Screens, selects, interviews and evaluates potential candidates

Identifies alternative recruitment methods such as online recruitment methods, professional organizations, technical programs and universities to target technically skilled individuals requiring highly specific industry certifications

Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws related to employment

Provides recommendations in determining recruitment budget to include job fairs, recruitment tools and vendor fees

Writes and places advertisements and job postings in ADP Talent Management's Applicant Tracking System

Identifies opportunities for participation in job fairs, events and handling employment/agency inquiries

Communicates hiring process and trains hiring managers on ATS and EEO compliance; monitors internal staffing compliance with EEO requirements.

Ascertains applicants' qualifications by conducting interviews, potential tests, coordinates interview schedule with hiring manager and conducts intake meetings and feedback sessions

Remains up-to-date on latest recruitment technologies, makes recommendations on recruitment sourcing initiatives and advises management

Monitors applicant tracking system to maintain accurate and up-to-date recruitment and applicant files and proper disposition of candidates

Manages the recruiting lifecycle to include selection and offer

Perform other duties as requested by supervisor

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees, recruiting vendors, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straight-forward, and professional manner

  • Critical thinking and analytical skills

  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Demonstrated communications skills

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to identify trends

  • Demonstrated knowledge of recruitment trends and technologies

  • Demonstrated knowledge of staffing and employment practices

  • Ability to work independently

  • Proficiency with MS Office

Education and/or Experience

  • Must have at least a High School Diploma

  • Must have at least 3 years of experience working in the recruiting/talent acquisition department of Human Resources

  • Must have ATS experience. Talent Management with ADP Workforce Now preferred

  • Must have advanced knowledge of Word, Outlook and Excel

  • Experience working in a team environment along with taking ownership of individual projects with limited supervision

LANGUAGE SKILLS

The ability to communicate clearly and effectively to internal and external customers both verbally and written correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic math skills with ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide by means of a calculator; ability to self-audit and correct errors before publication.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to discern priorities and solve practical problems. Ability to interpret a variety of instruction furnished in written or oral form.

The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, both in person and by telephone perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction; walk, move about the office to access file cabinets; sit, prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer; use hands to fingers, those activities requiring data entry in multiple systems; reach with hands and arms. The employee will occasionally stoop, kneel, bend, crawl, and crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards. Must have the ability to walk short distances, lift and carry small parcels, packages and other items. The noise level is consistent with those in an office environment.
