Job Title Recruiter, Student, Spanish-speaking Job Description
The Spanish-speaking Student Recruiter will focus on recruiting and supporting prospective Spanish-speaking students through the onboarding and admissions process. The Spanish-speaking Student Recruiter will build partnerships with key external community contacts, like nonprofit leaders, relevant school system contacts, career and college counselors, employers, and faith-based organizations. They will identify and cultivate student prospects, applicants, and admitted Spanish-speaking students through direct communications, including in-person, phone, text, email, and the CRM system. The Spanish-speaking Student Recruiter will create and deliver presentations for prospective Spanish-speaking students and partners about the benefits of community college at on-campus and external events. As needed, this person will assist as a translator to support Financial Aid and Student Advising as they assist Spanish-speaking students.
Mid Salary $61,593.05 - We offer a competitive salary package that will be determined based on the candidate's experience level and qualifications related to the job. Compensation will be commensurate with your level of experience. Duties/Functions
Recruit and cultivate prospects, applicants, and admitted Spanish-speaking students, including first-generation in Guilford County and surrounding areas.
Create and foster working relationships with key community leaders, area school system leaders, middle and high school Career and College Counselors, colleges/universities, businesses, and community agencies that support Spanish-speaking students and individuals.
Develop a strategic plan focused on recruiting Spanish-speaking students throughout Guilford County. This plan will include conducting information sessions and classroom visits, assisting with college application week in high schools, participating in college and career fairs, and creating communications and marketing materials in Spanish to contribute to the overall Student Recruitment Plan.
Plan and host targeted Spanish-speaking recruitment events on campus and in the community (ex. YMCA, faith-based organizations, Goodwill, etc.).
Communicate effectively in person and in writing with traditional (high school graduates), non-traditional (adult learners), Spanish-speaking students, and prospective students.
Design and deliver group presentations in person and virtually highlighting the benefits of community college, GTCC's course offerings, navigating college as a Spanish-speaking learner, etc.
Partner with Adult Education and Workforce Development Departments to create pathways for students to transition from Adult Education to curriculum programs.
Support Spanish-speaking students and their families throughout the application, financial aid, and onboarding process by serving as a translator and trusted resource.
Represent the college in Guilford County and the Triad region.
Document and track recruitment activities and communication.
Participate in national, regional, and state professional development initiatives to improve knowledge and skill base.
Demonstrate and model the College's employability skills: adaptability, communication, information processing, problem-solving, responsibility, and teamwork.

Knowledge of current and emergent practices in higher education which facilitate student success.
Strong computer skills.
Ability to work independently

Ability to work a flexible schedule. Registration, graduation and other heavy work periods will require additional hours, including evening and weekend hours.
