Exponent is currently hiring for a Recruiter to join our Human Resources team in our Menlo Park, CA office. Exponent has aggressive hiring plans each year, and this position will focus on hiring full-time Ph.D. engineers and scientists for entry and mid-level technical consulting positions. This individual will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and evaluating Ph.D. students and Postdocs at top universities as well as engineers and scientists who are in the early stages of their industrial careers. Responsibilities for this position include:

  • Identify and recruit talented Ph.D. engineers and scientists for full-time consulting positions within Exponent

  • Manage on-campus recruiting events at select universities, including information sessions, tech talks, receptions, career fairs, and more

  • Build new and maintain established relationships with universities, graduate students, professors, and industry professionals

  • Partner with consulting staff and hiring managers to achieve hiring goals across multiple offices and practices

  • Execute all aspects of the recruiting process including identification, screening, and interviewing candidates

  • Collaborate with hiring managers to source candidates through LinkedIn and other sources

Qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree required

  • 1-5 years of experience in recruiting preferred, college recruiting experience preferred

  • Previous Human Resources experience preferred

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships

  • Project management or event management experience, with ability to take ownership of projects and multi-task

  • Demonstrated success in marketing positions and engaging candidates on LinkedIn

  • Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and a self-starter

  • Must be able to work under critical time deadlines and to re-evaluate priorities while exercising good judgment

  • Local travel required

Our summer program success is dependent on having excellent teachers in every classroom. Our teachers are responsible for ensuring student success and support BGCP's mission of eliminating the achievement gap. The Talent Acquisition Recruiter responsibilities include; searching, identifying and messaging candidates while meeting weekly and monthly goals; interacting with potential candidates on social media, professional networks and in real time (e.g. LinkedIn, Indeed & Career Fairs); Responding to candidates and connecting them with next steps in the process; and coordinating with hiring managers to determine position requirements. Responsibilities: * Execute sourcing, cultivation, and screening * Facilitate an exceptional recruitment experience for all candidates * Partner with the Director, Human Resources & Talent and Manager, Talent Acquisition to identify recruitment needs and implement strategies to develop recruiting pipeline * Utilize creativity and independent judgement to implement 'outside the box' recruiting techniques to source candidates using the internet, social media, and other online resources (Indeed, LinkedIn & Career Fairs) * Work independently to screen candidates through resume reviews, cultivation calls & phone interviews * Run recruitment and selection events including, but not limited to, Interview Days and Job Fairs * Maintain candidate records and track recruitment metrics (e.g., candidates yielded by each source, time to hire, etc.) to evaluate and improve hiring efficiency Requirements: Knowledge & Skills What qualifications will the ideal candidate have? * One + years of equivalent experience * Teaching experience preferred * Successful track record in staffing, sourcing, and career fairs * Experience working with elementary and middle school teachers preferred * A demonstrated ability to coordinate, inspire, and motivate others. * Strong initiative, problem solver, and great organizational, communication, and collaboration skills. * Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills to inspire top educators to have an interest in and eventually joining The Boys and Girls Club of the Peninsula * Ability to effectively use search engines, job sites, social networks, and other tools * Previous experience in recruitment, selection, admissions, or other human capital work * An entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm for joining a fast-growing team What qualities will the ideal candidate demonstrate? * Deep personal commitment to helping low-income youth succeed in school and preventing summer learning loss. * A drive to spark students' passions and interests through hands-on learning experiences. * Supportive, collaborative approach to coaching and training. * A "Whatever it Takes" attitude and eagerness to take full ownership of projects and tasks. * Comfort with giving and receiving feedback. * Ability to work in a diverse, fast-paced environment.
