Position Summary:

Assists in the recruitment of potential employees via recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting and other sources. Contacts potential candidates and confirms interview schedules. Makes offers and conducts orientation for new employees. Recruits potential employees via recruiting website, employee referrals, on-site recruiting and other sources. Contacts with candidates and confirms interview schedules. Checks candidates work history, competency and other qualifications. Assists in developing interview questions with hiring manager.

This position does not have direct reports.

Essential Functions

  • Recruits potential employees by sourcing talent via phone, email and in person from external job/resume boards, schools, churches, competitors, other local community sources

  • Develops a talent pipeline by forging and nurturing positive relationships within the community

  • Attends career fairs, networking events, and other recruitment events

  • Leads the organization and execution of Childhelp hiring events

  • Screens resumes/applications coming into the applicant tracking system (ATS) to include employee referrals and other referrals

  • Updates applicant status in ATS throughout the process ensuring new applicants are reviewed and statused within 24 hours of application

  • Deploys pre-interview assessments

  • Contacts qualified applicants and conducts phone screens

  • Shares potential matches with hiring managers for feedback

  • Coordinates interview schedules with hiring managers

  • Collects interview documentation upon receiving hiring decision

  • Clears hire-in pay rate in accordance with salary budget and hire-in starting pay guidelines completing the Salary Justifications form in tandem with the hiring manager as indicated

  • Extends verbal offers and negotiates the offer within approved range

  • Initiates the offer letter via submitting Offer Letter Request Form

  • Maintains complete, orderly requisition files per department standard operations procedures and HR Audit



  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of two years' recruiting experience


  • Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills to include communicating clearly, effectively, tactfully, and patiently to a diverse population

  • Strong interpersonal skills and demeanor with the ability to build rapport and garner trust with others

  • Proficient in the use of a PC; in a Windows environment; in the use of the Internet; and in the use of MS Office Applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel


  • Ability to pass fingerprint background screening through the Department of Justice, FBI and Child Abuse Index

  • Ability to understand and solve problems by applying intermediate analytical skills to include collecting all the relevant information and data needed to address the problem; organizing, classifying and synthesizing the data into fundamental issues; from the information, identifying the most probable causes of the problem; reducing the information down into manageable components; identifying the logical outcomes from the analyses of the data collected; and, identifying the options and solutions for addressing the problems analyzed

  • Ability to work collaborative as part of a team

Physical Demands

  • Ability to frequently see, hear, speak, and be physically flexible; occasionally sit, stand, walk, bend, run and drive; seldom stoop, climb carry, squat, kneel, push; and lift up to 30 lbs
