Job Summary:

The Recreational Technician is responsible for planning, organizing, and implementing recreational activities for residents of the Southern Utah Veterans Home. The technician will work with residents to develop and implement programs that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and implement recreational activities for residents

• Assist residents in participating in activities

• Develop and maintain relationships with residents

• Ensure that all activities are safe and appropriate for residents

• Document resident participation in activities

• Assist in the maintenance of recreational equipment and supplies

• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities preferred

• Ability to plan and implement recreational activities

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Ability to maintain confidentiality

• Must be able to pass a background check

Physical Demands:

The Recreational Technician must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods of time, and assist residents with mobility as needed.
