- Work Hours: Tuesday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (with 1-hour lunch), and every other Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (with 1-hour lunch).
- Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for special events or facility needs.
This position will close on Friday, March 14, 2025 at 6:00 pm.

- Develops, implements, and oversees recreation programs and facility operations; collaborates with the Recreation Program Manager on staffing, budgeting, special events, and marketing. Supervises staff and volunteers, assigns duties, conducts training, and handles performance evaluations and discipline.
- Trains employees, conducts in-service training, monitors certifications, and ensures professional development for high performance.
- Oversees contract services.
- Develops and enforces safety and maintenance programs; conducts inspections to ensure facilities are safe and well-maintained.
- Manages logistics for facility rentals, including tours, contract details, and event execution.
- Monitors inventory, orders supplies, and tracks purchases within the budget.
- Prepares and manages program budgets, forecasts revenue/expenditures, and monitors financials.
- Handles fee collection, accounting, and program registration; ensures accurate documentation per City policies.
- Identifies and prepares grant proposals.
- Maintains program records, prepares reports, and handles correspondence.
- Participates in developing goals, policies, and priorities for recreation services and recommends procedures.
- Identifies areas for service improvement and implements changes with management approval.
- Recruits, trains, and evaluates part-time staff and volunteers, providing corrective actions as needed.
- Assists in program budget development and monitoring, including staffing and supply forecasts.
- Coordinates set-up and equipment for recreation classes, rentals, and programs.
- Evaluates community needs, conducts surveys, and develops programs based on feedback and trends.
- Assists in marketing programs, including creating publicity materials and social media content.
- Coordinates and develops monthly activity and event calendars.
- Ensures facility compliance with safety codes and maintenance needs in collaboration with Public Works.
- Maintains inventory of supplies for cleaning, office, and recreation facilities.
- Prepares daily, monthly, and annual reports on attendance, sales, repairs, and program participation.
- Provides public information on facilities, rentals, and programs, prepares presentations, and represents the City at meetings.
- Oversees and develops content for the City's website and social media.
- Assists with City-wide special events.

An ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent supplemented by college-level coursework in recreation, business administration, public administration, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Two years of professional recreation experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Strong organizational, leadership, and customer service skills.
- Ability to develop and manage budgets and schedules.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and software for scheduling, budgeting, and marketing (e.g., Microsoft Office, social media platforms).
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in recreational programs and event planning.
