TheCity of Laguna Beachis seeking an enthusiastic and team-oriented individual to fill our position of Recreation Specialist.This is an hourly/part-time position. Under direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator,you will assist with the organization, scheduling, and coordination of various activities throughout the year.

When you'll work:

Summer Schedule (June-August) - evening availability is preferred.

Off-season Schedule (September to May) - evenings and on weekends.

Examples of Duties

What you'll do:

• Answer questions from the public and provide information to individuals and groups regarding program offerings and coordination of services.

• Manage facility opening and closing procedures.

• Maintain record keeping.

• Assist with various sports programs.

• Distribute and collect program evaluations.

• Order, maintain, and inventory program supplies.

• Perform related work as assigned.

Qualifications

Any combination of education and experience demonstrating the ability to effectively and successfully perform the duties of the position is considered qualifying. A typical combination is as follows:

• Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Must possess the ability to work compatibly and effectively with others encountered in the performance of duties; must possess the ability to follow oral instructions and adhere to department procedures and safe work practices.

License/Certificate Requirements:Due to the performance of some duties a valid California Driver's License and acceptable driving record is required.
