Position Description

The Althea Gibson Tennis Complex boasts 24 tennis courts, a 1,500 square foot clubhouse and is the host site for various leagues, special events, tournaments, and junior/adult tennis programs. The Part-Time Recreation Specialist will be responsible for opening and closing the tennis clubhouse during operating hours, answering telephones, recording tennis court reservations and activity registrations, assisting with tennis tournaments/special events, providing general information to tennis customers, and insuring and maintaining tennis courts/facility by operating a blower, maintaining windscreens and replacing net center straps. This position is also responsible for collecting revenue for court fees, programs, and resale merchandise, preparing and maintaining accurate and complete daily cash collection reports and related support documentation.

Note: Position is 19 hours per week and requires selected candidate to be available to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and six months of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Class C Driver's License

• CPR/First Aid and AED certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

• Ability to work nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Other:

Tennis experience preferred

Knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Publisher a plus

Note: Driving and criminal history check is required. Selected candidate will also have to complete a post-offer drug screen.
