JOB OBJECTIVE: To plan, organize and coordinate various aquatic, recreational and leisure activities and programs for adult and youth participants at Community Centers in the Department of Parks and Recreation.
This position is designated as a safety/security sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol screening.

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through the completion of two (2) years of college coursework in Parks and Recreation Management, Recreation Administration, Parks Administration, Leisure Sciences, Physical Education, or a related area, one (1) year of experience assisting with the direction of athletic or recreational programs, or a related area and one (1) year of leadership or supervisory experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.
Must possess Standard First Aid and Community CPR certifications, or other certifications which incorporate Standard First Aid and Infant, Child and Adult CPR, within six (6) months of employment, and maintain certifications for the duration of employment in this position.
Must be available to work outside normal working hours including shift assignments, nights, and weekends.
