WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING HERE AT TEAM RC

The Community Services Department (CSD) provides enriching and meaningful opportunities for the community to come together. CSD provides a wide range of programs for the community including youth summer camps, youth sports, contracted classes, and several large special events. In addition to these events, CSD oversees the daily operations of several city facilities and parks to provide high-quality passive spaces for the community to gather. Based on your qualifications and interest, Recreation Leaders would be assigned to summer camps, facility operations, special events, and/or as park monitors.

We are hiring for the following areas: Youth Summer Camp, Concerts & Movies in the park, Special Events, Lewis Family Playhouse, Event Services, Marketing. Based on assignment, you'll be responsible for:

Summer Camps

  • Implementing daily lesson plans.

  • Assisting with craft activities for children of all ages.

  • Ensuring a fun and safe environment for campers.

  • Setting up for daily activities.

  • Leading camp songs.

  • Mentoring and guiding children.

  • Providing fun experiences that will create lifelong memories.

General Building/ Special Events Coverage

  • Working with the community and assisting with event coverage at our Movies in the Park, Concerts in the Park, Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular Show, and MUCH MORE!

  • Providing superior customer service to all clients and patrons.

  • Greeting the community and welcoming them into our beautiful facilities.

  • Identifying and resolving potential issues related to building operations.

  • Setting up and striking for a variety of rentals, classes, and programs.

  • Maintaining supplies, equipment, and inventory.

  • Assisting in the supervision of the facility.

  • Assisting in the management of events.

  • Applying, explaining, and enforcing regulations and policies.

  • Other duties assigned.

Patron Services - Lewis Family Playhouse

  • Deliver outstanding customer service with a positive, helpful, welcoming attitude

  • Compassionately assist patrons in the use of technology to find tickets on digital devices

  • Using excellent oral communication, direct audience members to their seats

  • Work in a fast-paced energetic atmosphere to deliver consistent quality guest experience

  • Using solution-oriented problem solving, assist with ticketing and patron issues

  • Describe a show to a patron the way a waiter might make a recommendation while processing ticket orders

  • Diligently and consciously protect patron personal information

  • Setup all aspects of an event including signage, queue lines, and tables to create a presentable tidy environment in which to host the public.

ARE YOU QUALIFIED

Education and/or Experience:

Equivalent to completion of 12th grade and some group recreational leadership experience or any combination of training and experience that provides the desired knowledge and abilities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of basic rules and regulations governing competitive group athletic games and sporting events; group recreational and social activities. Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions; provide prompt and regular work attendance; ability to work safely and efficiently.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent standing and walking. Dexterity and coordination to handle files and single pieces of paper; occasional lifting of items weighing up to twenty-five pounds such as files, stacks of paper, tables, chairs, and recreation materials. Moving from place to place within the recreation facility; some reaching for items above and below desk level. Strength, dexterity and coordination to lead or officiate in athletic activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Generally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, odors or noise. May work outside, evenings and weekends.

Successful candidates shall be required to:
