Description

The City of Menlo Park offers a series of City run camp programs such as: Menlo Madness, Menlo Palooza and Camp Menlo.

Collectively our camps range from ages 3 to 12. Campers will spend their summer going on field trips, cooking, creating arts & crafts, playing sports, visiting the gymnastics center, swimming, and forming new friendships! We are looking for enthusiastic, driven and responsible Summer Camp Leaders who enjoy working with various youth ages and creating a fun, safe, positive and thriving environment.

There will be a mandatory training week, the week prior from the first day of camp.

Menlo Madness:

Requirement: Candidates must be the age of 16+ in order to be eligible to apply.

Location: Arrillaga Family Recreation Center, 700 Alma Street, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Dates: 8 weeks; June 17th and concluding August 9th

Times: 8am-4pm, with Extended Care from 4pm-6pm

Menlo Palooza:

Requirement: Candidates must be the age of 18+ in order to be eligible to apply

Location: Menlo Children's Center, 801 Laurel Street, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Dates: 8 weeks; June 24th and concluding August 16th

Times: 8am-5:30pm

Camp Menlo:

Requirement: Candidates must be the age of 18+ in order to be eligible to apply

Location: Onetta Harris Community Center, 100 Terminal Avenue, Menlo Park, CA 94025

Dates: 8 weeks; June 24th and concluding August 16th

Times: 8am-5:30pm

Applicant must be able to take initiative, be responsible and correct errors as needed. Good interpersonal communication skills, the ability to think critically and the flexibility to work both independently and within a group environment are required. Must be a quick learner with the ability to assess situations and make sound, independent decisions and the ability to perform complex tasks without detailed supervision. Must also have strong computer skills, presentations skills and the ability to speak, write and effectively communicate fluently. Ideal Candidate Qualifications * Strong organization and intrapersonal skills, ability to work autonomously * Demonstrated excellent customer service skills * Strong multi-tasking abilities * Ability to coordinate and work with diverse populations, co-workers and customers. * Experience with Microsoft programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Publisher * Experience with Social Media * Experience with Photoshop or InDesign a plus * Experience with reservation software a plus * Must have valid California Driver's License Responsibilities * Assist with community events including event planning, marketing, directing staff, and acquiring and utilizing supplies. * Oversee various projects consisting of events, theater programs, tennis courts, etc. * Actively participate on various committees as needed. * Assist with Gym Front Desk responsibilities including: Drop-in Basketball/Volleyball, picnic/tennis reservations and tennis key purchases. * All other duties as assigned by supervisor Time Commitment 20-30 hours per week, hours are flexible.
