The City of Redding is now accepting applications for the position of Recreation Crew Supervisor in the Recreation Division of the Community Services Department.
The Recreation Crew Supervisor is required to be involved in the development of programs, communicate policies and procedures to staff, and work effectively with staff, volunteers and the general public ensuring friendly, efficient and professional customer service at all times. Assumes Recreation Coordinator duties in Coordinator's absence.
We are looking for someone to
Supervise multiple program sites and/or work shifts within a specific recreation program area.
Develop, supervise, promote and evaluate quality facility programs and services.
Develop and implement creative, interesting, well-rounded, and motivating staff in-service training.
Ensure professionalism among staff, including providing quality customer service.
Demonstrate safe and proper handling of equipment in appropriate environment.
Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications we're looking for
Knowledge of appropriate City and certifying agencies regulations and safety procedures.
Knowledge of theory and principles of the activity and/or service provided
Knowledge of effective supervisory skills.
Ability to interact effectively with the public and employees
Ability to supervise and motivate employees
Ability to function in a high energy environment and provide quality customer service to participants of all Recreation Division programs.
Education, Experience and Special Requirements:
Typical education would include a high school diploma, or equivalent, and advanced training or course work in the discipline. Business administration classes desirable.
Typical experience would include a minimum of one year experience in assigned area of responsibility, including relevant and appropriate supervisory and leadership experience.
Possession of the appropriate California driver's license, or the ability to acquire one within ten days of appointment.
Crew Supervisors must possess valid CPR and First Aid, as well as same certificates required of employees supervised.
Instructor certifications highly desirable.

Selection Process:Final appointment is contingent upon:
Passing a city paid fingerprint criminal conviction check
Passing a pre-employment medical exam and drug and alcohol screening test.
Veteran's Credit:Applicants who attach a copy of the DD-214 to their application indicating "Honorable Discharge" from military service and receive a passing score on the examination process will have two (2) additional points added to their final examination score.
