Parks & Recreation Opening Date: 03/13/2024 Closing Date: 10/17/2024 11:59 PM Eastern Description Performs work organizing recreational activities, community center events, assisting the Parks & Recreation department with operational projects and communicating with the public. Work is performed under general supervision and requires night and weekend hours. Examples of Duties Communicates regularly with the general public and responds to customer questions, requests, complaints, and suggestions.

Assists in the planning, scheduling, instruction, and organization of recreation programs, activities, events, and services. Monitors and reports unauthorized persons along with other safety and security concerns. Notifies appropriate staff of any incident or accident and completes the required documentation associated with each concern.

Participates in the work of setting up and breaking down meeting rooms and facilities for functions. May also perform custodial work such as required and assigned, including: change light bulbs, sweep floors, vacuum carpets, dump garbage and reline cans with liners, clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies, clean spills, etc. All other tasks as assigned.

Typical Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Valid FL driver's license or ability to obtain one. Ability to solve problems and address concerns; Ability to contribute to the accomplishment of team goals, objectives and activities while maintaining effective working relationships Knowledge of standard office computer equipment and software applications; Ability to work late nights, early mornings, on weekends and holidays; Ability to follow and demonstrate written and oral instructions; Ability to determine priorities and meet deadlines and objectives; Good written and oral communication skills and ability to follow written and oral instructions.
