Job Summary

Hourly position, Grade H07, no benefits.

Performs unskilled tasks in supervising authorized use and maintenance of buildings for Recreation programs.

The work of this class is of an unskilled nature and the employee is responsible for willing and efficient performance of assigned tasks. General supervision is provided by the Recreation Coordinator. Performs minor custodial duties and is routinely observant of maintenance or repair problems; follows through with necessary action to correct condition or alert appropriate supervisor to ensure same.

Essential Job Functions/Other Duties/KSA

Maintains accurate attendance records.

Collects authorized fees.

Completes accurate and timely required reports pertaining to fees.

Ensures proper or authorized use of buildings during recreation program activities.

Performs minor custodial duties appropriate to recreation programs such as mopping, dusting, picking up litter.

Ensures proper care and use of all recreation equipment.

Ensures safe and proper conduct of all persons who attend Recreation programs at the assigned facility.

Maintains order and enforces all recreation and school regulations relating to the use of the facility.

Coordinates the use of the school building as it relates to recreation programs.

Staffs special events as required.

Other Job Duties (Duties listed are not intended to be all inclusive nor to limit duties that might reasonably be assigned.)

Performs related work as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (These are pre-employment KSA that apply only to Essential Job Functions.)

Ability to--

  • Oversee proper use of facilities and maintain them in good condition.

  • Maintain and prepare required records in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Deal effectively with the public and school staff.

  • Read, write and perform simple arithmetic.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Qualifications (Note: Any acceptable combination of education, training and relevant experience that provides the above knowledge, skills, and abilities may be substituted on a full-time year for year basis.)

Training and/or Education:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Experience:

Six months experience working with the public.

Licenses or Certificates:

CPR and First Aid certificates are desirable.

Other Information

Subject to background investigation.

Must be 16 years of age. Work Permit required if under 18 years of age.

Physical Demands:

Requires long periods of standing, frequent walking indoors, repeated bending, crouching, stooping, stretching or reaching; recurring lifting of objects up to 49 pounds; operation of keyboard devices.

Days and hours vary.</p><p>Performs minor office support work for the County's recreational programs. Work involves setting up and arranging facilities for recreational use, and performing related clerical tasks. Work requires prior office experience and is performed under close general supervision.</p><p>Essential Job Functions/Other Duties/KSA</p><p>Inspects facility and grounds; arranges furniture and equipment for scheduled activities; prepares areas for the next shifts events.</p><p>Ensures order, cleanliness and safety for patrons inside and outside the Community Center.</p><p>Answers and resolves the public's questions and problems by determining the correct solution or forwarding inquiry to the level that can properly resolve the issue.</p><p>Respond and initiate telephone calls and inquiries.</p><p>Maintains various records and forms; collects fees and issues receipts in accordance with policy.</p><p>Completes various clerical assignments to include use of Parks &amp; Recreation specific software, proofreading, create updated signage for notifications as needed and file as needed.
