About the Job

Post detox residential treatment program for men and women 18+ with substance abuse histories and multiple attempts in treatment.


Under the supervision of the direct report, during assigned shift, ensures the safety of the program milieu by assuring program security, monitoring, and other supportive tasks.

  • Specialized or technical skills required, including computer applications proficiency (e.g. Basic Excel, Intermediate Word, and knowledge of electronic medical records)

  • Other skills, knowledge, and abilities required to do the job

  • Amount of directly related experience required

Associates degree or Bachelors preferred in related field, must have experience working with substance abuse population. One to two years of training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certification in CPR and valid MA driver's license in good standing.

Must demonstrate ability to relate to a substance abuse treatment population in a sensitive manner, an interest and willingness to work in a multicultural setting and must share a customer service orientation. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Uses reason even when dealing with emotional topics. Manages difficult or emotional client situations; Responds promptly to client needs and maintains confidentiality.

About the Job The Addictions Treatment Services division with Beth Israel Lahey Health Behavioral Services (BILHBS) consists of a variety of residential programs and detox facilities that serve individuals who seek recovery from addiction and mental health issues. All clients are treated with dignity, respect, and the belief that everyone has the ability to grow when they are provided support, education and direction. The Receptionist position is a unique opportunity for a customer service focused individual who wants to make a difference in the addiction treatment field by ensuring seamless access to services and acting as the first impression of the organization. The Receptionist's Responsibilities Are: * Operates switchboard and takes messages, utilizing TTY equipment as needed. * Transfers telephone system to and from evening service, retrieving and relaying messages taken by the service. * Greets visitors and notifies appropriate staff of their arrival. * Collects client payments and schedules appointments. * Complies with cash control procedures including preparation of daily cash receipt log and accuracy and security of cash box. * Assists with and notifies the Manager on duty of any issues in the waiting area. * Keeps census log up to date and obtains medical charts from the records department. Qualifications: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. * A minimum of 6 months' experience in a related field is preferred. * Experience with Excel, Word, and electronic health records preferred. Schedule: This is a part-time, 26 hour/week, benefit-eligible position. The anticipated schedule is Thursday through Sunday from 7:30am to 3:00pm.
