Recovery Specialists strive to provide high quality community-based care to all individuals working to improve their substance use and mental health issues. Recovery Specialists establish and maintain therapeutic and collaborative relationships with them as they work under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or LPN. They organize care activities for the individuals and units, and they assist counselors and nurses facilitating these activities, ensuring that they incorporate results of these activities in the individuals' care.
Recovery Specialists maintain strict confidentiality of individuals' information as they perform intakes, admissions and discharges, obtain and process insurance information, and respond appropriately to clinical emergencies. Finally, they are flexible in response to staffing needs by assisting doctors and nurses with exams and simple procedures, measuring and recording vital signs, and transporting individuals to appointments and aftercare, when needed.
Our employees are the most important asset in improving the lives of the individuals we serve. Our staff not only enjoy outstanding benefits and professional growth opportunities, but also an environment noted for community involvement, diversity, the opportunity to gain highly marketable skills, and to take on challenges. BHN is committed to growing our own employees and promoting from within.
