JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The Recovery Health Technician is an integral part of our residential facility team. This position provides the daily needed support to our patients who are receiving treatment for substance use and co-occurring disorders. The Recovery Health Technician also works in collaboration with the treatment team to aid in patients successfully completing their program and living a substance-free life.

Essential Functions

  • Contribute to a patient's recovery journey by facilitating psycho-educational groups.

  • Working in concert with the patient's counselor, aid patients as they walk through the Christian Enhancement,12-step, or Wellbriety program.

  • Continuously monitor patients for mental and physical well-being, including signs of illness or injury, substance use or conflict with other patients.

  • Aid a patient in beginning their recovery journey by processing new admissions into the program.

  • Conduct inspection rounds of the facility to observe patient behavior and ensure the facility is clean and hazard-free to provide an environment that supports our patients' success.

  • Support patient community engagement by transporting patients to appointments and meetings in the community.

  • Ensure patient compliance with program guidelines and log patients' daily actions and behaviors.

  • Monitor and report emotional and program concerns as needed.

  • Chart patient medication usage when needed.

  • Perform patient drug testing as necessary.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the organization.

Work Environment

This job operates in a residential treatment facility environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job successfully.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. This would require the ability to bend or stoop as necessary. This position must be mobile throughout the facility, as well as work on a computer for periods.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time or part-time status dependent on the position hired for in a 24/7 facility. Days and hours of work vary according to the assigned shift.

Travel

Limited travel is expected for this position. A clean driving record is needed for transporting patients to local appointments and meetings.

Required Education, Experience or Eligibility Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent

  • Proficient with a variety of computer software programs, including but not limited to Microsoft Suite and desktop publishing.

Previous Human Services training and experience
